RDR3 - wishes
Just finished the game again again again. Still such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masterpiece. Nevertheless, I still want more from my Western experience. I'm sure a lot of you have though about this too.

Some of my wishes for RDR3 are:

1. The story. No complaints about the story in RDR1 or 2. Both are superb. However, I would LOVE to be able to explore early 1700-1800s America or Canada as a native American. To see the changing of the lands from a native American perspective. There 100 % is an absolutely awesome redemption story just waiting to be told. And just imagine the melee combat possibilities with an expanded close quarters combat system using tomahawks, knives, clubs and bows. Building relations or waging war against other tribes as well as the settlers. Starting new tribes or rising to the top in your original tribe. So many possibilities. I can only imagine what R* would do with this.

2. The ability to rob banks whenever - outside of actual quests.

3. The ability to purchase land from the government and build a house whenever (or just buy a house in a town).

4. The ability to make friends and family.

5. Starting a gang of your own.

6. Bring a companion on your travels - either a person or a dog (or both).

Tell me your top wishes!

It's always funny when people come up with ideas in their head but don't think it through or counter themselves to see if it makes sense or not.

1) Uh no. The setting maybe, but what you described sounds more like an RPG or Assassin's Creed.

2) This works for stores and such, which you can rob regularly. Banks, not so much. Robbing a bank is a big deal and would be difficult to pull off a second time.
Also, it just trivialises the event, which is why GTAO is pretty lame, and arguably the main plot of GTAV. In past GTAs there were heist missions but they were few and far between, one-offs. In GTA4 the bank heist mission was iconic and amazing because it stands out. GTA5 trivialises heists by having many throughout the story and being the core of GTA Online, making them really boring and not special.

Heists should be unique and special, important to the story and not trivialised. You want a cool bank job mission? Great. Do you really want to be doing the same bank heists over and over? No that sucks.

3) Buying homes may be cool but would run contrast to being an outlaw. RDR1 and RDR2 both have you travelling around, on the move as you go through the story. You're not a very good outlaw if you have an address where the law can come find you.

4) Why? It's not the worst I idea but elaborate. Pay attention to RDR2, throughout the story they use false names and hide themselves to avoid attention from the law. You want to avoid people knowing who you are, not make friends with them. Again, you're a bad outlaw if you're friends with everyone.

5) The only good suggest you've given. Yeah starting your own gang would be cool, but it would have to be done narratively and not just done on a whim whenever through gameplay.

6) An okay suggestion, but it would probably just get killed in combat. Also what would really be the point? Again you don't elaborate. There's really nothing the dog could do.

Everything you describe is more of an Western themed RPG, or a Survival RPG like The Forest or Rust, not a Red Dead game.

If RDR3 should ever happen.
Maybe after RDR2:O they finally recognized, it's a dead horse they can't milk that hard unlike GTA
And theirfor not worth to be developed in profit terms.

#2:

1) RDR2 is an rpg. Just not a deep rpg. So, yes, my idea would fit the format just fine.

2) yes, I agree, bank heists are a big deal. So are train robberies - which you can do whenever you want in RDR2. Arguably, train robberies are even bigger undertakings as they require the same or more planning than bank heists, since the thing you're robbing is moving - and moving fast. They don't work super well in RDR2 and the yield is much too low but that's not the point. Point is: it's possible to do a big heist.

3) Have you even played the game, man...? 😂 John, literally, buys a plot and every piece of his house and all the other buildings. Come on. He's pretty much as much on the law's radar as he possibly can be - yet he remains an outlaw even after he establishes the ranch. Sure, it will eventually be the end of him but that's besides the point. Point is: he owns registered property and is an outlaw at the very same time.

4) Again: have you even played the game..?? Arthur makes lots of friends and acquaintances outside of the gang.
Sure, they're bound to quests but it's just a question of creating a bonding system with people in the future game. That's it.

5) SO glad you like it. Means the world to me.

6) what do you mean "What the dog can do"..? It's about the company and immersion, man. Just like in real life. Also, if you wanna talk function, the presence of a dog can function as an effective deterrent to predators and thugs. Just like in real life.

How about you come up with your own suggestions and contribute?
