Can't turn on subtitles

Hey evereybody i have a bit of a problem turning on the subtitles in the game. I go to settings,display then turn on the subtitles, apply it then the game restarts. After the restart the subtitles are still off. So far i have tried reinstalling the game, but that didn't help. Any help would be appreciated.

honestly idk how to help you with this but count yourself lucky this is your only issue cuz most can't even get the game running properly right now
