RDR2 is one of them. Look on the store page
How much Vram on your GPU. 6 gig is recomended
Look in the graphics> Video Memory and remove some apps from there.
See if there is any updates for your GPU from the manufacturer.
Has no DX11 options.
Set the NVIDIA Shader Cache to 10GB or higher in NVCP.
Manually set Windows PageFile to C Drive and set to 1.5X your RAM
Go to Properties for PlayRDR2.exe and RDR2.exe in the game folder where installed and tick box on for "Disable Full Screen Optimization" and apply.
If you get error launching game via DX12, wipe the GPU cache via Disk Cleanup (Run As Admin), then restart the PC and try the game again.
Intel UHD 620/630 might run it, but I highly doubt it would run well enough at 1080p; most likely would have to change in-game screen res to 1280x720 or something similar.
Might need to go into the BIOS and set the iGPU buffer to 2GB or higher. This can allow it to use more VRAM, such as up to around 2GB shared system RAM.
Game like RDR2 you really need at least a dedicated GTX 960 or better just for 720p
That should be perfectly fine.
Many have their Windows PageFile on the default setting of Auto. Need to set it manually and then reboot and the game issue should go away.
Also since you are on a Laptop ensure you configure Nvidia Control Panel properly by setting High Performance GPU as the default and set the Power Management to Prefer Max Performance
If you have only 4GB VRAM and select 1920x1080; it's not going to allow you to select Ultra for Textures, which you always want to use. You can set that afterwards manually within the System.XML file that gets saved to Documents (In the RDR2 > Settings) folder and set the Textures to Ultra.
Again though, this game will have issues unless you manually set your Windows PageFile better. Such as 8192 MIN and around 32768 MAX. Then click Set and click OK. Then restart Windows to apply the change. You can free up some disk space by turning off Fast Startup + Hibernate via CMD (Run As Admin) > POWERCFG -H OFF
RDR2 is on-sale at the moment so ensure to look into that.
