NO LICENSES?????

THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME IS SAYING I DONT HAVE A LICENSE TO PLAY AND IT WONT START UP, ANYONE ELSE GETTING THIS/HAVE A SOLUTION???????

Launch Steam
Launch Rockstar Launcher
Log in and set Remember Me + Auto
Launch RDR2 from Rockstar Launcher

If you get the activation error, exit the game, then sync your OS clock properly.

Then launch the game again and see.

Yep I have the same problem and Rockstar is impossible to get a hold of and Steam won't refund me. I unfortunately don't know what the solution is other than to buy the game a second time through Rockstar's page. The whole debacle has made me a sour apple.

Did you install Rockstar Launcher and Login first?

Again the error regarding activation is random.
If it happens once, not a big deal, could be a connection related issue.
Exit the game, wait a minute, then relaunch it and see.

If it continues to happen, try a manually set DNS in your Router; and also power off modem/router for about 10-15 mins, then power back on again and try again. On the PC side you can load up CMD (Run As Admin) or PowerShell and use IPCONFIG to reset nic and flush dns.

so this happened to me too, its something to do with CPU power. so open another game, say minecraft in a singleplayer world and leave it open as you start it and you should be fine, also updating to windows 11 fixed it for me. hope this helped

Kind of funny since this game has all kinds of odd issues under Win11 and MS keeping breaking it. Dec 2023 marks like the 2nd or 3rd time MS did a Win11 update that broke RDR2 until MS fixed it.

If you find it's the CPU load, just open Task Manager (which you should always have running anyways really) and go to the Performance tab, after you launch the game and close the windows for Rockstar Launcher and Steam, click on the Task Manager and hold down F5 key to refresh really fast and this will force a higher then normal CPU usage. Once the game is loading the black screen with loading bar, press WINKEY+D and then click the game icon.

Do not have Task Manager set to Always On Top.

run the steam through the administrator and check the files for integrity, 4 files, if it works out, should help.

You don't have a mouse icon next to your name meaning you don't own the game
atleast on steam

did you buy it on the rockstar launcher or have you pirated it?

No he probably bought the online version. If you bought online version first then bought the story version after, you can't even start the game as of today
