Trouble With Getting 3 Star Squirrel For The Hunting Request

I've been trying to complete rdr2 100% and am trying to do the It's Art achievement and i have been using the bow but i keep using DeadEye trying to get a headshot but i miss and hit somewhere else cause the arrows so slow, lowering the value. pls help

Is it possible to make the small animal arrows in story mode? That is the only way I have been able to get 3 star online.

Use small game arrows, use cover scent to sneak closer, dead-eye on the head and that should be all it takes to head-shot a 3-star all day, if that isn't working you're doing something wrong somewhere.

I think you can also get one (with a lot of luck) if some other creature like an eagle snatches one up and you pop the flying thing out of the sky.

There is also an item that raises your chance for a perfect pelt. But a perfect animal is of course still required, the game is only a little more forgiving if the shot was not perfect and would have lowered pelt quality otherwise.
