100% cpu usage all the time
Bought the game a few days ago and noticed my CPU usage is pinned at 100%.
Searched the net for some info and found out many people had or have this issue.
Tried a few things i found while searching but its not really getting any better.

Pc is still pretty decent with a 10700K running at 5.1GHZ all core, Asus RTX3080 TUF OC and 32GB ram.

Most threads ive read people complained about the high cpu usage when it was at 92 to 96% but mine literally is @100% on all cores, all the graphs in taskmanager are pinned at the max.
Testing and playing with DLSS doesnt do anything, it doesnt shift loads and i dont gain or lose any FPS, absolutly no difference between DLSS off or on.
Switching to DX12 does lower the cpu usage a bit to around 90% but i also get around 5% less fps.
FPS is decent with an average of around 90 or so but it feels heavy and im sure 100% cpu isnt really helping.

I do have my CPU set as an dedicated 8 core instead of 16 threads capable ( forgot what its called ). could this perhaps be an issue with RDR2?

Hyperthreading helps with this game. If you still get 90-100% CPU utilization try switching to task manager and find the process that hogs CPU. If it's rdr2.exe then try Process Lasso https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption2/comments/dufiv0/a_fix_for_freezing_in_towns_that_finally_worked/

Well i got it fixed and the biggest improvement was switching back to Hyper threading just like i thought.
I also reinstalled my OS as it was due anyway but this didnt seem to really do much for the game, maybe a few fps more but this was probably because of newer drivers.
After playing with some settings ingame i now have an average CPU usage of about 40% and GPU is always maxed out at 99%.
Weirdly enough i didnt gain any extra fps from all this which makes me wonder where all that cpu "power" went when it was at 100% before.

personally i use this driver on my RTX3060TI seem to work best 537.42 driver
with RDR2
i try newest driver they put out and my fps went from like 70-80
down to 20-30 so i yanked it and put that 537.42 back on pow right back up to 70-80 fps
could try that see if helps it did for me
since u running RTX3080 might give u similar results
that latest driver only seem to work well with the 40 series cards
why i don't use that geforce experience thing anymore it just goes oh newest driver must install
it don't care if going to jack your card all up because driver might not be best suited for your card
