Rockstar launcher shows "A game Is currently running" and the game won't launch.
So, after launching the game, the rockstar game launcher loads for a bit, and then it displays the following message: "A game Is currently running: Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently running. By choosing to exit, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be quit and any unsaved progress will be lost." That pop-up message only shows the option to exit, and when I press exit, the Rockstar Launcher will close, but Steam shows that the game is still running, and It keeps adding more playtime hours even though the game Is not running at all. When I try to stop the game, it keeps getting stuck on "stopping". I have tried most of the possible solutions, such as verifying the integrity of the game files and updating the GPU drivers and windows, but no luck.
Following are my specs:
CPU: R9 5980 HX
GPU: RX 6800m
RAM: 16GB
OS: Windows 11 Home

Open Task Manager and look for Read Dead Redemption Process & Terminate it so that it will Close. Give it a Few seconds & then try to Launch the game from the "Rockstar Games Launcher" & see if it will load.

There have been some posts that have stated that some users have been having issues with the game & that their OS is Windows 11, while the others who still have Windows 10 are kinda having the same issue or another.

Close R* and Steam in task manager.

Then re-launch.

It won't load. The "PLAY ON STEAM" option of the rockstar launcher just changes to "EXIT GAME", and it assumes that the game is running.

The graphics driver could also cause such kind of issue. I will try installing the older version of the Radeon Software.

Someone had posted the issue before & the answer was given & resolved BUT i can honestly say that i don't remember the Post Title from where the answer was posted, you may have to dig in the Posts to find it...........but the issue was resolved as far as i remember.

Don't remember the solution my self since there are so many that i've read already about users with the issue, & yes most of them got their game to work already.

I wrote to rockstar live support for this problem. They told me to turn off steam autostart and end it from task manager. Then they said that if I run steam as administrator, the problem will be solved. And the problem was really solved.
