Don't buy this game, no more updates and crash after few minutes.
This game is not possible to play in pease

it happens apparently every x-mas , and after the snow is gone it is solved
since they didn't provide a sollution in the past i doubt they will now
so wait until after 2Jan
personaly i can play fine in story mode , so it don't affect all
did you download it recent than you may need to download it again after 2Jan
what is also strange that the first days off snow i had no problems playing the game,
that is also a reason many suspect a hack , it could be a combination ...
but it def. has a lot off ppl thinking about Rockstar

The snow is not really an update, it's in the original game files. For example in Story Mode the Snow and the Cold Temps can be easily toggled on and applied to the entire game map using Rampage Trainer, which is just using core features of the game itself not really modding it.

Story Mode crashing has nothing to do with RDO updates as you are not subject to changes in game files whenever RDO updates each month as that happens on the backend of SocialClub

it's true , but he plays in private session (modded the game) and his download is from before x-mas update, i also can play offline whitout craching for hours until i myself stop playing.
ppl that downloaded it more recent seems not to even be able to play story mode

1- if you do so does your game craches , probly not but you have no idee how many times even simple things in updates (take haloween events) time after time will go wrong even if they fixed it already years before but stil result in corupted files the next year)

2- they shoudn't but helbreath usa - march of empires, etc have a big history in doing so if the file they change is used by both online and offline it will affect both
but that is also not what i say in my post , since i say i and many others can play story mode just fine , those that downloaded it more recent can't so what i say is somehow they downloaded a corupted file that came with the update mayby by a bad upload from Rockstar to Steam and other platforms or whatever reason (yes they most likely uploud the entire game every time they do a event where the event is already into the new game , while they also have just the update files for ppl that already downloaded the game , do i find that silly as well yes but i didn't had to download 20 updates when i installed the game like we had to do in the old days )

3 what do you say than modders are 100% responcible while you say yourself using Rampage trainer and if not than you can't know for sure it won't crasch the game

This issue was known way before Windows 11 came out & around Windows 7 64-bit, YOU should look into Windows History & Game Requirements Issues with lack of decent Hardware.

RDR2 actually runs perfectly fine on some older PCs, trust me I've done it many times, no problems. Specs such as...

FX6300 + GTX 960 + 16GB RAM + Win7 SP1 64bit
^ yes limited to 2GB VRAM, however you can just edit the System.XML to force certain graphics settings.

FX8350 + GTX 980 + 16GB RAM + Win7 SP1 64bit & Win10 22H2 64bit

4790K + RX 580 & GTX 1080 Ti + 32GB RAM + Win10 22H2 & Win11 22H2

All the systems used SSDs, no HDD bullcrap.

What download are you referring to?
And what Mods? Using the Private Session method via STARTUP.META w/ Password is NOT a mod.

Once you get through the intro which is a forced matchmaking mission after character creation. Exit the game and play via Private Session. You can still enjoy the various missions that require matchmaking if you get friends to join your private session as it will use that player pool for the matchmaking. Just that all the players within the private session can't be off doing their own missions, that have to be ready to join the matchmaking mission with you. Easy way to do that is have someone leveled up who has a Persistent Posse, who can come into your private session (if you want to be the host of it) and have them re-establish the Posse and have the others within the session join the Posse. Then start the mission of choice you wanted to do.

Most of the RDO Story Missions and Moonshine Missions are kinda lame.

The better stuff is the Telegrams and Blood Money Missions; along with doing Call To Arms and Featured Series.

1 download is the game download
2 yes it is , you need to download a file not provided by Rockstar than you need place it in the game directory , that is modding the game even if what you than use is already in the game , using rampage trainer is modding or maybe even cheating depending how it's used .
it says it even itself on their website

What do you think they mean by "modification"

That is by definition so i'm not gona go further in discusion about that
