If it was an Nvidia Drivers & you have GeForce Experience installed as well then run the Experience & click on the game & Optimize the game so that the settings can correct any issue that might be preventing the game from running.
The other option would be to clear the Steam Cache in order for the game to reset & Auto run the Cache so it can readjust to the new Graphics driver.
There are other processes to try but it will depend on the issue that you have & sometimes the issue is as simple as the Graphics driver Update. You could try to downgrade by 1 on your Graphics Driver in order to see if that was the cause of the game not working but that's up to you.
I have an RTX 470 Graphics Card, and I updated my Drivers here from the official AMD website, because CS:GO had me go there when I booted up that game https://www.amd.com/en/support?utm_campaign=support_main_redirect&utm_medium=redirect&utm_source=301
After a sound issue with Hellblade: Senua's sacrifice, I realized that I didn't have sound in the RDR2 menu's anymore either.
So I tried if the fix for Hellblade (changing the windows sound settings so that spatial sound/Sonic for headphones was enabled) also had an effect on RDR2. And it did: the actual game environment loaded again. Crazy enough it now even starts correctly with Sonic for headphones disabled. Maybe enabling that setting triggered something? Or I just got lucky and there is another parameter at play that I am unaware of. But maybe this post can help someone. Hope it does.
