Swamp Mission

Hey guys, I'm Brazilian but I'm writing in English to try to reach as many people as possible who can help me. Recently I've been having difficulty continuing the game's story, to be precise, the mission in which Arthur and Dutch go to the swamp with the Sheriff of Rhodes. When I arrive at the edge of the forest, I have to follow and wait for the Sheriff to guide us, however he stays put. If I try to close the game, it crashes. Remembering that I believe it is not something related to my PC, as I can do other main and secondary missions normally. However, I can't move forward in the story. =(
In advance, anyone who can help me would be grateful.

My advise is that players should prepare themselves, whatever the game is, in that if available, that you manual save more often outside of missions. In case you have a problem in a certain mission you can go back to an earlier save just before starting that mission and perhaps do some other things, then try that mission again at a later time and see.

Exit the game (if it's running as we speak here now) and go to Steam and Verify game cache for RDR2. When that is done, exit Steam properly/fully and relaunch it via Run As Admin. Then launch Rockstar Launcher via Run As Admin. Launch RDR2 from Rockstar Launcher.

Play around in-game and see how it does now.

Now it really works. I went to Steam and checked the game cache there, a problem was found by the system and I was able to update. Thank you for your help. =)

Yes after a game install, or a game update; it is always a good idea to take the time to perform the Verify on the entire game, just incase it happens to have a missing and/or corrupted file, it will get fixed by the game client if this occurs with an original game file.
