being DCI 4K, I'd assume monitor, and an actual professional monitor at that.
(i.e. "gaming" isn't a marketing term or a selling point. lol)
TV? Can't say I'd even seen a DCI 4k TV, yet.
Anyway;
Is your desktop resolution at 4096x2160?
If not, you may need to download the monitor.inf file from the manufacture.
They often call them drivers though just a simple file that provides needed info about the monitor to the computer, resolution/refresh rate/manufacture etc.
You more than likely have media that came with it, and it should have the monitor.inf on it along with all the other goodies.
Oddball resolution in the consumer world;
so RDR2 still may not be able to take advantage of that resolution & be stuck with the pesky black bars at 3840x2160.
Into pro photography or film maker?
If not, why DCI 4k?
Use 3840x2160
It should be available if you set the OS Desktop to that res first.
Not really considering 4096x2160 is an oddball resolution.
And you being the only one I'd ever seen ask about that resolution, anywhere on Steam.
Or are you just the type that thinks a game developer should make all available resolutions available in their games, which would include medical grade displays & purely grey scale?
Hell, many games no longer support 16:10 aspect ratios any longer.
In your case however, did you even check if the desktop is running at 4096x2160?
RDR2 may actually support it? But it really does need to be recognized by the o/s.
