Public private server

Has anyone used the file trick to create a public private server? Right now I’m playing solo but I kind of wanna play with friends without modders and using the file trick might be the solution, is there this kind of community?

If you watch this Video & Follow it's instructions then you can have a Private Session in RDR2 Online & your friends can join as well as not have to deal with Other players at all :

With your own Private Online Session there will be no Hackers or Cheaters or even Griefers so you can play the game on your own or with friends that you know or just do stuff alone if you want to.

You can play your own Private Session with out having to deal with cheating or hackers or people that just wan't to pick on you for fun.

Use it or not it's up to you to decide.

Looks good, is there a way to change the map? been online but sick and tired of the online map as dark bleak snowing foggy game play, would prefer summer, clear skies and holiday time :)

Modding the game will cause you to get Banned cause it would be against TOSS Rules ( If Rockstar has the Rule - "I did not read it & just clicked Accept" ), just be aware that you will be banned if you go Online even by mistake & you will not be able to play the Online Mode.

Change what map?

The snow is for December. They do this every year for GTAO and RDO.

If you don't like the cold/snow where normally it would not have it outside of this December Snow. Then wait to play RDO until after approx Jan 6th ~ Then RDO will go back to normal, for the rest of the year, as we see the various areas in Story Mode.

RDR2 is dead as far as updates goes. Rockstar officially said back in mid-2022 they are 100% done with this game. Nothing gets updated anymore, all they do is cycle existing playlists for RDO, which is not a game update.

They may patch the game files if they feel the need, to address security holes; but that is probably about it.

We don't need to have Rockstar add-in a Private Session option like GTAV/Online has since we can easily do this ourselves.

No need for a YT video to explain how to do private session.

Aren't solo sessions considered modding too? also what's the harm in trying to get more attention put on red dead online and red dead 2, i still think its a good game, just has its flaws.

yes and no with this way you are just changing the start up meta
nothing cheating just trying to avoid the cheaters and hackers that can boot you off rdo

If it was modding we would have been banned for it. Which doesn't even make sense since this is a natural play method. Rockstar just never added the option in the game like GTA has.

And bring what attention to the game? Rockstar is done with RDR2/RDO end of story. They themselves have officially said so. Also Rockstar don't monitor this forum

Yes but if you use the startup.meta private session method, your friends must use the same file contents and password. Then have one of you (group of friends) load into RDO first so you are an established Host.

As with this startup.meta method, you can not Join/Invite players using the SocialClub system like you'd normally do.

how is it possible then that in every one of my online sessions there is always at least 1 cheater? some time more than 1

I've been using the private session method since 2021.
