FSR 2.0 just fixed the game ?
hey i have rtx 3060ti ryzen 5600x 32gb ram
i couldt really play this game on my 1440p monitor because the 1% lows were really bad both on vulkan and dx12 with medium-high settings, the dlss had really bad ghosting so i put this game down because it was unplayable.
but today i installed it again and tried FSR 2.0 and wow... the game feels buttery smooth and the image quality is really good too i use fsr 2.0 quality, medium-high settings at 1440p, about a stable 100+fps and low %1 feels smooth no ghosting no shimmering.
On the internet it says it was added back in 2022, also there is fsr 2.1 version but you have to install it manually does anyone play with 2.1 ? how is it ?

DLSS is the same way. The game comes with a very outdated DLSS DLL file. You can go download a much newer version of DLSS and put its DLL in the game to use that. You just need to rename the original file to something else so you can rename the new file same name as the original, so it uses that instead. DLSS 2.39 is fairly good quality.

I think you need your eyes checked though if you think the FSR looks good at all. It helps with FPS but it makes all of the game look "muddy" especially more then a few feet off into the distance in-game.

If you wanted higher FPS you should have gotten a better GPU.

Getting 50-70 in RDR2 @ 1440p without any DLSS/FSR is actually very good.

It's going to drop quite a bit in certain towns though, that's a given.

yeah i noticed the image is less sharp, im gonna try to add dlss 2.5.1 now and see how it works, i also heard alot that vulkan has anisotropic filtering problems and dx12 looks better.

dlss 2.5.1 still has artefacts when moving camera ghosting and lines.

That is probably because the TAA is still on.

yes taa was on but i cant disable it, when i turn taa to off and put dlss to quality taa automaticly becomes high
Sharunas Nov 13, 2023 @ 2:46am
apparently rockstar launcher automaticly reverts dlss back to 2.1 when launching the damn game :) f this

UPDATE: using nvidia control panels DLDSR on 1.78 (on my 1440p monitor) and running dlss replacer program which you start before launching the game which prevents the game from reverting dlss from 2.5.1 to 2.1 and ingame dlss on performance the image looks good now, the only thing that i still need to test is vulkan vs dx12 image quality

Yes sorry I was tired I forgot to mention the dlss replacer.

You also don't have to use any DSR. The game has an Upscale setting you can use which would probably be better then all the BS that comes with using DSR. DSR won't even apply properly unless you first change your OS Desktop Screen Res to the higher one you ultimately want to use in-game such as 1440p or 2160p, etc.

In the game graphics settings the setting that says Locked, change to Unlocked and then look for Image Scaling I think it's called. Something like 1.25 - 1.5 would be good one to try.

If game is running at 1080p and you upscale to approx 1.75% that would be very close to the image being 1440p

dldsr seems to work fine
Sharunas Nov 13, 2023 @ 3:41am
DSR was old nvidia control panel option that was added in 2014 it had really big performance cost and visual problems
DLDSR is much newer option that is much less performance demanding and much better visual quality
when usind dldsr and ingame dlss (2.5.1 with replacer program in rdr2) the game finnaly looks like it should at 90 fps at 1.78 scaling dldsr
also ingame image scaler does not work when dlss is enabled and dldsr is 10x better than ingame scaler.

It's amazing how broken this game is 4 years later. Sure it works for many... and it also doesn't work for many. Having to edit files, re-install, move files. etc... meanwhile all of my other games just work.

It does look better in this game than most. The only issue I have is the telegraph lines look like nintendo graphics.
