I've been having the same issue myself. From all the searching I have done, most people are saying it's due to the graphics API type that the player is using.

They say if you are having issues with it and you are using Direct X12, then to switch to Vulkan, and if you are using Vulkan, then to use Direct X12.

I do not know if you are using mods or not, I am, and I've noticed that every time that I switch my API, it crashes the game almost instantly after loading in, other times about 10 seconds after loading in, or when I go into the item/weapon wheel.

They also say to try clearing the Steam cache and verifying the game files, and it didn't have an impact on my game at all.

However, if you want to try changing your Graphics API to see if it works for you, the way to navigate to it is:

1. Go to settings
2. Go to graphics
3. Scroll down to Advanced
4. Unlock the settings change
5. Swap your API to either Vulkan or DX12
6. Save settings then shutdown the game and relaunch from Steam itself. (If it doesnt work, swap back to your original setting)

I've also been trying to locate a mod that fixes it but no luck so far.
Good luck and I hope it helps.

Hey, I have been doing some tests and I realized that the problem is the Vulkan API, because I have the same issue. When I switch to Vulkan, the problem gets solved, but the issue is that DX12 performance, at least with my graphics card, is really bad. So basically, I just didn't use this ability during the game. I tried looking for other fixes but had no luck, and I also couldn't find any mods that fix this. Also, switching to DX12 and then back to Vulkan doesn’t solve the problem. As long as the API is Vulkan, the problem persists

Very strange because it works fine for me on Vulkan...
