Basic Story (ONLY) Modding Guide

This basic guide is meant only for Story, not for Online multiplayer. You'll need a few things prior to getting Single-Player Story mods to work.

You'll need scripthook with and asi loader. Either version.dll or dinput8.dll ... I have both just in case.

You'll also need a Trainer like Rampage, which I recommend. Lenny's Simple Trainer can cause performance issues in the game.

Some mods are only asi files (asi files will always go in your install folder) and some are both folder and asi structured. So, you'll need a mod loader. Lenny's Mod Loader is really the only option.

1. Place Scripthook with the asi loader(s) in your install folder.

2. Download and extract lml (Lenny Mod Loader) into any folder that's accessible outside your install folder. Open the lml_rdr_beta folder to read and follow the instructions of the readme. Every mod should have install instructions, just make sure to read and follow them.

Some basic tips:

-Mods that have similar game function will obviously have compatibility issues. If they're LML mods then you can use the load order to overwrite to improve compatibility. LML load order is downward so the bottom-most file loads last.

-To make troubleshooting easier, I recommend installing mods in blocks of no more than five at a time then starting the game and loading a save to check for issues.

-Any loose YTD or YMT mods you download go in your lml/stream/ folder.

I tried this on my installation but was not able to get anything to work right.
It seems that the Rockstar Launcher is central to the problem. lml seems to think it must go to a separate Rockstar Games folder and ignores the Steam Installation Folder. It also doesn't download from Vortex.
