The Problem is not the hacks, but the ones that use it against other players

I thought that Rockstar RD2O has an strong Anti Cheat Program that did not allow for such things to happen ?

Though when i first started to play this game, i did run into 1 player than Teleported to my Location from far away & killed me a few times, i noticed it wasn't normal cause i saw his location in the Map Radar.

I play now & then but i'm not hardcore like others i guess, i just haven't found a good place to farm exp or farm money, other than Hunting & selling the skins & meat.

I always keep looking at the Radar to see if i spot a blue Dot on the Map & i keep an eye on it to see if it heads my way for no reason...

Funny thing that happened to me from an NPC Ambush, i took out my gun's to kill the enemies........but my hands were all over the place like my hand was anxious & out of control.....& i died often BUT i ended up wining after a few deaths...................i think my Nerves were shot when it happened & i could not aim properly >_<

It's bad. My first ~90 hours were quite peaceful in story mode. RDO is literally the wild west for script kiddies.

Darn, I just bought this - was thinking to get either this or GTA5, but then I thought about the $50 per year online pass for GTA online, and the hacks, etc.

Seems this is worse, eh?

Sadly, Rockstar has a horrendous track record when it comes to keeping cheaters out of their PC online worlds. :(

Both GTA Online and RDO are absolutely saturated with cheaters. :/

Here’s hoping Rockstar/Take-Two gets things right for the PC release of GTA6.

Yea looking forward to that. However, is the RDO hack a truly disruptive experience, or is it like a 5-10% chance only?

And do I need to buy an annual pass to play online as in Sony?
Silhouette Oct 23, 2023 @ 10:52pm
There’s no annual fee to play RDO on PC, just pay your internet bill and you’re good to go.

On PlayStation you need to pay the PlayStation+ subscription; but honestly, to play Red Dead Online with virtually no cheaters it’s WELL WORTH the subscription.

Heck, if Rockstar offered a subscription to play RDO on secured servers with no cheaters I’d have signed up yesterday. o_o

Honestly, it depends who you ask. If you live close to the North American West Coast, cheating is horrific! You’re almost guaranteed to have at least one cheater in every session, you just have to pray they’ll leave you alone. :/

I understand the rest of North America and Europe don’t suffer from cheating as badly. I can’t comment on anywhere else.

It’s bad enough that I’ve completely given-up playing RDO on PC.

I do own both RDR2 and GTA5 on PS4, but I enjoy playing on PC more than on console; however, this cheating issue has got me thinking maybe I ought to refund RDR2...

Edit:
As for timezones, currently it's 9AM where I live (+3 GMT).

Personally, I’d avoid RDO on PC. I’ve found the experience to be MUCH better on PlayStation.

However, if Rockstar/Take-Two ever did anything to meaningfully address the cheating on PC, I’d hop back to the PC version in a heartbeat.

Edit:
It seems areas near Asia have the most trouble with cheaters on PC. That’s the best advice I can give.

Thanks a lot for your input. I suppose I've decided to do a refund. I doubt Rockstar will do anything, as I heard that on GTA, hackers are actually accessing players' computers and are able to hack into your PC, and not only that, but can also script to ban you, take your money, add money, etc.

However, on Playstation, I remember there were plenty of cheaters, are you sure cheating is eliminated on console from both GTA and RDR?
