You lose out on any open world content you have already done, and after every mission you go back to your save game, so technically its like reliving a memory of the mission than actually having the game continue after the mission is over.
so it really depends on the reason you want to restart? is it a "i haven't played in a while i forgot the plot" issue, or is it "i want to redo some chapter one and two missions"
Folder under that is your saves folder (will be a mix of letters/numbers), copy/rename that folder somewhere else like the desktop for example. Then delete the the folder in the path shown above,
Quick and easy game restart and you'll have a backup of your progress on your current game.
