NVIDIA GPU Driver 532.03
This driver I tested all day long with RDR2.
Win10 22H2 on one machine, Win11 22H2 on the other.
Overall works very well compared to any of the buggy 531.xx drivers. So far so good. Most stable Driver from NVIDIA I've seen for this game since 522.25

It's nothing new. GFE always was configured by default to auto download the latest driver. Even if that happens while you're playing a game I doubt it would bog down the game unless the PC specs were barely enough to run the game and such. It's not going to auto install the driver though just auto download it. But yea you can change the settings within GFE to make it stop doing that. This way it only notifies you of an update.
downloading hinders internet connection speeds what are you talking about "I doubt it would bog down the game unless the PC specs were barely enough"?

this is an online connection required game, any time you download something in the background it can cause issues with the connection which can ultimately cause the game to drag in its own download speeds. - and this has zero to do with pc specs

even though the game is installed completely on someones pc, losing even just a bit of internet connection can hinder any rockstar game.

this is literally why there's a yellow loading icon explicitly for connection issues.

I have my PC download all day while RDR2 is running. You just need the connection to get into the game, once at main menu you can even turn off internet if you want. Playing Story Mode, having background downloads would not hinder the game at all. You can play it all day long offline as long you connect during the launch of the Rockstar Launcher and game. You do not need an internet connection while playing story mode. Although it will complain it can't connect when using the Photo Mode F6 Camera, that's about it.

okay but you're talking about the story mode im literally saying that people get kicked out of the game entirely when online because nvidia decides to pirate some download speed. - when it isn't supposed too.

background downloads are turned off, it's still doing it.

^this is the point you're not understanding for some reason.

there is currently a bug with geforce experience that prevents us from stopping these downloads in the background.

idk why i've said this multiple times now.

There was no glitch in the game as such. No bogging down. I have i5 12400 + RTX 3070:) When the game goes perfectly smoothly, you notice all the smallest micro-friezes. Their reason was the loading of the driver. By the way, I did not install the driver. There is a good rule - when everything works perfectly - you do not need to interfere.

^this is what i was speaking about.

it was downloading in the background causing microfreezes.

i called it "bogging down" and for some reason OP thinks computers are catching on fire.

no, we are literally seeing the progress of the download via the stutters in the game.

and it's because geforce experience is automatically downloading the drivers, (not installing,) without us even telling it to do so.

i personally, have it turned off, yet it still does it.

so OPs response to just "turn it off" doesn't actually fix anything.

Well, let it load the driver. The main thing is that there is an option - to install or not. And this is the user's choice.:)

That bug has a name & it's geforce experience..
Uninstall it and that bug will go away.

I have mine turned off as well, but now that I think about it, it does download the driver sometimes. I dont think all of the time. I know it has on occasion, and when I go into the app because I got a message about a new driver I see it is already downloaded without me doing it.
Maybe we should all just delete the dang thing. I must admit that I like it though because im too lazy to go to their website and check for updates on my own. I like being told when one is out.

I've had GFE installed on a Win10 OC since I redid it fresh back around Oct 2022. Never had GFE cause me to lose online connection to any of my online MP games. Not even RDO. Games like GTA Online and RDO don't use much data anyways. I've tracked how much data those use via Mobile Tethering and its quite small compared to most online games. I played RDO over Mobile Tethering for an entire day a couples times and it used maybe 800MB-1GB of data. But again that was for praying RDO for 8-12 hours. I have had no issues downloading my videos/movies in background or allow Steam to download while my game was running. But for Steam I just cap the speed aa little below what my max would be so Steam doesn't try to hog it all. Such tests were done via 5G Mobile Hotspot with download speeds able to reach 300Mbps

Yeah, ive not had problems either. I was viewing 3 or 4 maybe more windows in Edge too while the game was running. Just because we didnt have problems though doesnt mean someone else cant. Just like how mine is having issues loading the intial save, none of your PCs has had that issue. Its a real issue because there are a good number of us on here having it and ive seen it for myself.

Frankly I could read all this old nonsense until the cows come home.

Here's the fact of the matter.

On the 6th of September 2022 R* released an update that has adversely affected many players, primarily Nvidia users.

It has not been rectified.
Bad 💀 Motha 27. mai 2023 kl. 16.01
If you say so. Game runs super smooth all day long on a dozen PCs I've tried it on. Half of them are old too. FX 8350, i7-4790K... I don't get why so many have issues with this game. I can see the Rockstar Launcher hiccups every now and then, due to the SocialClub service issues that come and go. But the game itself runs great

1200 hours without issue - Sept 6th onwards Spurious Low Vram messages reported by many Nvidia Users.

Or we all made it up.

Yeah, most of the problems seem to be with Nvidia users. Im glad mine doesnt do that. What model video card are you running? Mine doesnt do that error, its a 3080ti. Maybe its model specific?
My game half the time wont load a save.

Is there an easy way for users to report these problems to Nvidia? I wonder if they are aware. Maybe they could fix it in a future driver?

I was getting those low vram messages way before that game update though but that was on Vulkan. I switched over to using DX12 option and have not had any problems. Even if the message pops up it doesn't always mean is or will be a problem if you continue to play onward after seeing it. I have seen it happen while using DX12 but usually not before having the game run for well over 4+ hours straight and even then it doesn't appear to be an actual problem, more of an annoyance of sorts.

But like any game whether you playing single player or online multiplayer it's good idea to save the game progress often and if you feel the need, exit the game and relaunch it every so often to flush the game world cache and such.

If you're using NVIDIA try enabling NVIDIA Reflex + Boost within the game.

If you still experiencing stutters in-game, try playing the game with VSync and Triple Buffering disabled. But then set NVIDIA Control Panel's Vertical Sync to Fast, if you don't have a Display that can use GSync.
