Objects disappearing and reappearing
Like the title says, I noticed in camp that some smaller objects like the pot and boxes were disappearing and reappearing after a couple seconds. Is there a setting I have that's causing this, or is it just a persistent problem on PC? I found a reddit post about this exact problem, but nobody was able to answer their question.

it's the geometry level of detail setting.

did you by chance lower it?

because it will make things disappear based on a tick rate and distance to the player, and doesn't use depth which means that if you are looking straight at something it will appear, but if it is in the corners or further away from the center of your screen it will disappear.

it's not a bug, it's how the game saves memory.

you can increase the setting but at a cost of performance.
Ahhh I see ok, I'm still trying to configure the settings for rdr2 because I keep getting the low memory warning, despite me being able to run it pretty smoothly (50-80 frames usually with most of the major graphical settings being on ultra), I just don't have enough memory for it. The integrated processor CPU on my laptop has over double the memory that my GPU has but when I switched it over the game ran like poop.

it's not that you don't have enough memory, the game itself has a memory leak bug and this pop up appears even when the game is using less than 50% of your memory.

make sure to open task manager and look at the values it's actually using to confirm, because for most of us when this message hits, it's not actually running out of memory it's just bugged.

it also occurs on the lowest settings just so you know.

Oh ,wow. Could this possibly cause the game to crash when trying to load a saved game? Some of us are having that problem. The game boots just fine, but when we hit the button to play story it loads the customary 4 pictures, but then when the game is supposed to pop up, it just crashes the game to desktop. No messages.

Im running a 3080ti and the graphics menu shows that Im using less than 1/2 the video RAM. Ive never had this bug you guys talk about though, and once im playing the game it pretty much plays normal and looks great.
I have had some bugs with menus in the game. Tonight when trying to buy some things at the gunsmith, the book did not pop up on the screen like it should. Instead, it just showed me standing at the desk looking down at a distance ,like when you are playing. it was still animated and the game was running fine otherwise. I got no book to buy from and no menu at all on the right. I was then stuck on that screen with no way out. I had to bring up taskmanager to close the game out.

The GPU onboard a CPU doesn't have any VRAM; it has around 256MB, that's it. It saying like 2GB is simply wrong, it shares that from System RAM.

Your dedicated GPU of any kind would be better and should have at least 2GB or more of dedicated VRAM.
