Does it run on Windows 7?
When the game first came out it said it could run on windows 7 but now it says the game don't support it. Did they change the system requirements?

I still have a PC that runs it perfectly fine on Win7 since Dec 2020.
No issues.

However, you're going to need a 6GB GPU if you want to have fairly decent visuals @ 1080p because under Win7 you will not have a working DX12 option.

You also will need to update NET Framework to 4.8 or later.

If using NVIDIA GPU, use the latest available driver; 473

He might aswell run it on Vulkan which is better actually

Well you won't have a choice under Win7. The game loads up on Vulkan anyways.
But you will really have to play around with the visuals quite a bit if you have a GPU with less then 6GB

If you are on windows 7 your security is out of date, be online at your own risk. I imagine you are one of the ones having the ffffff error too. Games on steam and steam itself get updates. Drivers on win 7 have stopped getting updates, you will not even be able to start some games. An example would be playing skyrimSE using skse. You can't use the latest skse on win 8.1 either.

Regardless of all of that, RDR2 does actually work fine on Win7 64bit SP1 as long as updated to the fullest and also NET Framework is updated to 4.8 and you have all those Visual C Runtimes installed.

Even though NVIDIA 472/473 drivers are sorely outdated it doesn't stop RDR2 from running properly. All you can't do with it on Win7 is use the DX12 option. You're stuck with Vulkan. Which is fine.

Just know that you must upgrade to Win10 at the very least at some point.

Even if you put Steam in Offline Mode, this will not allow RDR2 to launch properly.

The weakest link is the user, and from the sounds of it, you don't know how to practice basic measures.

It's not that hard to keep your OS secure. If you can't even do the simplest steps to do it, you shouldn't be using a computer.

Are you turning yours off and unplugging it then?

Why is this still being discussed? Rockstar cut Win7 SP1 / 8..1 support a while ago.
Can't run the Rockstar Launcher in those OS', thus can't run those Games either.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
