..but the only thing I personally found working for me is just by rebooting .
It's not a permanent fix but it pervents it from happening constantly to me for the couple of hours I get to play each day.
How do I roll back the driver to a previous version?
Install DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall the current graphics driver and download the previous graphics driver.
Verify your game cache.
Disable all/any Anti-Virus crap you're using.
Launch Steam via Run As Admin
Launch Rockstar Launcher via Run As Admin
Launch RDR2 from the Rockstar Launcher.
Right click RDR2 game in Steam Library > go to Properties > Local Files > Browse
It takes you to the folder the game is installed to.
Leave Windows/File Explorer open.
Switch back to Steam and Uninstall RDR2 game.
Now switch back to Windows/File Explorer and anything left over should be from your mods. Delete everything left inside this folder...
\Steam\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2
Now download the game again.
When this is done, right click the game in steam > go to properties > local files > verify
Let that finish to ensure all game files are intact; nothing missing or corrupt. If there is, Steam will address this by redownloading fresh files just for the ones that are a problem.
Always good idea to do verify after a game download or update, just to be sure.
If you ever use game mods in the future, keep track of what the mod uses for files, so if you have an issue you could delete only the mod related files and avoid redownloading the entire game.
