- Verify integrity of game files
- Add launch option "-ignorepipelinecache"
- Try and mess with the settings, even running the game with lowest possible graphical settings with API on Vulkan
None worked. As long as the API is Vulkan, the game goes completely nuts. DX12 works, but then the performance problems kicks in. That's the reason why I never used DX12 in the first place, so this is really a bummer now.
Performance problems with DX12.... What are you talking about???
I run the game on DX12 and have no performance issues at all, but if I switch to Vulcan then I start getting crashes back to desktop, so go figure.
Prior to that most questions on the forum were game related (IE how do I do this or that) but since then it seems most are technical issues.
The majority of people reporting problems after the September update are Nvidia users.
It's also worth checking your graphics settings after a driver update to see if the new driver has increased the demand on your vram.
In my personal opinion the most stable driver for this game is the pre - September driver 516.94
And one of the notes posted by nvidia is: [TouchDesigner] Degraded performance using Vulkan [3952439]
Pretty sure has something, cause Rdr2 hasn't any update recently.
Just reinstalled the previously NVIDIA drive (532.03) and the issue is gone. New drive (535.98) is giving a bug with the Vulkan API.
About any prior problems that has occurred after september, I don't know. I got back to this game like a little less than a month ago, after having had a good 1,5 year break on RDR2.
People running the game just fine aren't going to bother posting; they are too busy enjoying their games.
Get off of those 535.xx drivers; use 522.25; 531.68; or 532.03
There is no reason right now you need a driver any newer; even for Diablo 4 or System Shock. Both games runs just fine on 532.03
