Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

Upon startup, RDR2 says that I need Intel Driver 27.20.100.8681
I've tried everything. Laptop is up-to date, Nvidia Drivers are up-to date and Intel Driver & Support Assistant says that I am up-to date.

open the system.xml file at documents/rockstargames/rdr2/ with notepad. Edit the value for adapterindex to 0. Save. Run the game.

I am having the same issue, however my adapterindex is already set to 0, so I don't know what to do. everything I have is up to date

Did you ever find out what the issue was?

StartMenu > type Graphics > click Graphics Settings
Add/Browse and add both the PlayRDR2.exe and RDR2.exe and for both change the options to High Performance GPU.

Launch the game.

I tried to do everything but it still says that my driver is out of date (everything is up to date) and when I try to go into benchmark it’s just a mess of green lines (how do I fix that?)

Wipe everything for GPU drivers out completely using the DDU app and do a clean for Intel and Nvidia. Then reboot and get the latest drivers here...

DDU
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

INTEL
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

NVIDIA
https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/211638

When all done and OS has been restarted after all I stalls have completed, open Nvidia Control Panel. Set High Performance GPU as the Default and set power management to Prefer Max Performance.

Then click StartMenu > type Graphics > click on Graphics Settings. Click Browse and navigate to your RDR2 game folder. Add both PlayRDR2.exe and RDR2.exe to the listing and change the options for both so they are set to High Performance (Nvidia) GPU

Merhaba,

Bahsedilen sorunu bende yaşadıım. Driver güncellemelerini hem nvdia hem İntel üzerinden yaptım olmadı. Sorunu ise oyunu açarak oyun ayarlarından çıkış adaptörünü 0 yaparak sorunu çözdüm.

You simply can force your OS to use a certain GPU for said App.

StartMenu > type Graphics > click Graphics Settings
Click Browse and navigate to game folder, all the game EXEs such as PlayRDR2.exe and RDR2.exe to the listing; then change the Options for both in the listing to "High Performance GPU"

Now the game will always use your dedicated GPU card rather then onboard iGPU.

The same problem, technical support did not help, I tried to set the adapter index to 0, reinstalled the game, reinstalled the drivers, nothing helps.

it turns out not everything was up to date, the moniter i was using had outdated drivers with no new alternatives, so my solution was to unplug it and delete it form device manager, in which solved my problem even when i plugged it back in

Well, exactly one year later I too am having this problem. I have tried the available solutions, editing the system.xml file and changing the graphics settings as noted in this thread. But neither has worked and I am still getting the window stating I need to upgrade my graphics driver to 27.20.100.8681. I *can* load the game, but when I do it's very choppy.
One time about a month ago, I closed out of the game after getting the driver message and it asked me if I wanted to load the game with lower graphics. I said yes and was able to load and play the game as normal. However, this option has not been given since.
