The two choices simply push Arthur to either end of the "Honor" spectrum, so the choice can be used as either a "this is who i am", or "i want to be someone different (in the end)".
other than that the only real thing honor is used for is discounts and the like.
Unfortunately, people already spoiled me ending, so I know that... You know
arthur dies, that's part of the story, (srry for the spoilers but it was already spoiled before this comment,) and the only thing you can do for him is give him his redemption, which is literally the entire point of the game.
i havent said how it happens, but the difference in his endings are truly night and day....
Just because you do not care and find the game fine when on very low honor, that's on you.
it also dictates certain stranger events in the world.
anyone who says it doesn't matter are just kids who skip tutorials.
That's nice and all but none of that actually does a thing for the gameplay or story.
I love how people are so "OMG got to have it" with shiny things, especially in games.
