Rockstar Launcher Broken

Tried on windows 11 laptop and windows 10 rig. The rockstar launcher is broken. I can barely navigate the settings. In fact, I bought the game on steam, because I already owned it on R, just to see if that would change anything. On steam, it can’t even get to in the launcher, it gets stuck on the R logo. I’ve never seen a platform so broken, and I’ve been PC gaming since before Arkham Knigbt lol.

Tried admin, can’t verify files, uninstalling restarting, nothing can get me into the launcher OR to actually launch the game. If I get to the launcher (nonsteam version) it then gets stuck somewhere like the loading screen. Wow.

Update:
All, the problem for me at least and my two PCs was that one drive was backing up my documents folder. So my path was c/user/username/one drive/documents/rockstar

This won’t work. Disable one drive from backing up your documents. Move your one drive document files back to your (username)/documents folder.

Big thanks to Rockstar Customer support, the guy was really nice and knew immediately that one drive is the problem.

Same issue since just now, on deck. Loads indefinitely in offline mode. No error messages, that just feels sloppy.

10 hours after initial report, Rockstar launcher still just spins, even for story mode. Why do I need to connect to Rockstar to launch a locally running game? Super creepy that they need to know when I'm playing their games.

I launched rdr2 with proton 7.0 and it started working. Try to change proton a few times

Hey is this on your steam deck or on PC? Never used it on a desktop before

I’ve tried different launch arguments, nothing happens, click play, wait a minute, goes back to click play

What do the logs show? You should have launcher logs and Social Club logs. Should be under C:/users/{yourUser}/Documents/Rockstar Games/

You should see three different log files in the subdirectories:
Launcher.log
socialclub_launcher.log
ipc.log

From what I'm seeing, it looks like the launcher calls the Social Club fine, then Social Club fails to connect

Unable to create pipe named "rgsc_launcher_0" in client mode.

Weird. No. I don’t have a rockstar folder in my username- documents folder.

Is that why my launcher sucks? I mean I legit can’t verify the files, it just stalls for a minute then continues like nothing happened.

I’ve reinstalled the launcher 5 times

broken since yesterday for me on deck, switching to proton experimental makes it launch but causes other issues in game

try this bro, click the setting icon,then "developer",then"delete proton file". start the game and wait the launcher dl again.

i also found experimental to be the solution. what issues are you having? mine seems ok.
