RDR2, on the other hand, left me wanting more even after 100+ hours. The story, writing, and character performances are leagues ahead of Valhalla, and the gameplay is just more engaging in my opinion.
After playing both i can certainly assure you that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a VASTLY superior game, not just in terms of the open world either. The graphics, character and facial animations, plot, and environmental story telling is all just so much better and results in a very detailed and immersive experience that Valhalla is just unable to offer. Plus, i would even argue that Red Dead's rpg mechanics are deeper; there may not be straight up skill points to spend, but there are plenty of stats and buffs to keep track of while progressing your character, as well as managing your crew and camp's well-being and your reputation. it's a fun balancing act and feels immersive while also not feeling like a chore. Unfortunately, Valhalla is full of chores, and the only way to interact with any of the mindless npc's is only by killing them. it's better in RdR2 when you make small talk with every npc, and you never know where their side missions will lead you. whether it's going hunting, being held up for robbery, or being invited to see a stage performance, the citizens in RDR2 always offer something new and interesting. trust me, Red Dead is def a better choice. not to mention Valhalla really just DOES NOT dedicate itself the viking theme as well as it should
