Displays the Area, Time, Temp (*C/*F) as well as Bounty $ if any.
You can always view the correct in-game time via the ESC menu
You never need the pocket watch, that's just for immersion purposes.
I do have the pocket watch but I mean....not like I have a date.
When you are not doing a story mission or some sort of time-critical task; time (at least the day of the month so to speak) stands still.
The only real notion of lengthy time passed is when you've been away from Gang Camp for many days and either someone from Camp finally runs into you "Oh Dutch was worried, you were gone so long, would you like to come back to camp with me?" Or when you just go back to camp on your own and the various members making comments about you being away a long time, do your share to bring in food and money; etc.
Even the time of day is not really important unless you are trying to trigger something that might only happen during a small window of time. Like the UFO encounter, the memories of war on the battlefield, things of that sort. Some random encounters or animals of certain areas can be found at certain time-frames of the day or night as well.
If you play RDO there are plants that only are able to be gotten at night and such.
There is a mod available that puts a small clock in the upper-left to help you better see in-game time. Mods require a few things for them to work, such as proper ScriptHook for RDR2.
For most of the time, using the ALT key tap method from time to time can help to also see Current Temp (*C/*F) as you will want to have at least 2 basic outfits stored on your Horse at all times. One that is suitable for hot weather and one that is suitable for cold weather. If you are not properly dressed for the weather, your Health Core will automatically drain over time. Cold = below 1*C / 34*F ~ Hot = above 26*C / 79*F
