It doesn't exist when using KB+Mouse.
On does that for horses from what I've seen.
You don't need that crap, just play the game. It shouldn't have no lock BS anyways, it's pointless. This isn't some kiddie arcade game.
Basically if I am targeting why does the UI stop targeting, how do i fix that?
Almost poinless anyways, I found out you can't catch and bond with wild horses in the online version anyways .. nearly pointless to try and catch them, pisses me off that I've spent 2 days trying to figure out how to catch and stable a wild horse when they disallow it and have it gated through a money and level system .. really pisses me off actually.
RDO has different rules. Only time you can lock on like that in RDO is to lasso a game hunt to get a clean kill. Yes all horse in RDO must be purchased. No way to get any other way. Once you do buy a horse don't forget to buy insurance for it so it gets replaced if killed.
If you don't know the game well learn by playing story not by playing the online mode.
Online is way different. Even your movement in rdo is fast like a traditional fps game, not like story mode.
Also I wish they add some feature from online to story. For example you can get a perk so while on horse back your horse can pick the herbs with mouth and hand them to you. Very cool idea.
I already know now how to lasso a horse (that's janky and very difficult to do as well), but thank you for tips. It's just unintuitive control design, I understand creating your own control design is better for a 'style' but it makes zero sense to add in a couple dozen press and hold this to press that for basic controls (especially when holding self releases).
But the complexity while adding nothing to overall game enjoyment is a minor issue, invisible design choices that are unintuitive like not being able to capture and stable a horse is just weak mind boggling design decision. Either make them accessible and consistent with the rest of the game and other game platforms, or don't iterate. Or if you are going to change it state it, let the consumer know it doesn't work that way, it's really that simple. Wasting 2-4 days trying to figure out how to circumvent a bad initial control set up and invisible design flaws just plain old pisses me off.
Don't get me wrong I like the game overall, but this 'let's put a bird on it' game design is irritating as a video game consumer of many years.
They play different so you really need to be specific.
It would be helpful if you made a couple videos. Very easy to do that and share them
