In the story mode, the name of the horse is not confirmed, which makes it impossible to complete the plot, in the online mode, the name of the character is not confirmed when creating, which makes the game itself impossible online. The Rockstar version, they could not help them in any way, reinstalled the game, tried earlier saves, checked the integrity of files, re-logged in many times - nothing helped, I found nothing on the Internet about this bug. I would be grateful for any advice on solving this bug

That's what I mean, when you need to choose a horse's nickname or choose a name when creating a character online, nothing happens when you press enter, which makes it impossible to continue the plot and, accordingly, makes it impossible to play online.

Yes, in fact there is nothing unusual there: just a field for entering the name and background

You can't leave it blank.
Try the Enter key on the NUMPAD

There's your issue, go to Controls and reset them back to Defaults.

I changed the default settings as an experiment, and I also indicated that I reinstalled the game, which in itself resets the default settings.

Reinstalling a Steam does not reset any of its settings as those files are held elsewhere such as in Documents or AppData structures and don't get removed when you uninstall the game. So it's loading up using whatever you had set before.

If you want to load up the game using all defaults, go to these folders and delete the contents...

Documents > Rockstar Games > Red Dead Redemption 2 > Settings

Documents > Rockstar Games > Red Dead Redemption 2 > Profile > YourID#

^Do not delete files that start with "SRDR" as those are your save game slot files

I have a rockstar version of the game, this was originally written about. Even if reinstalling the game does not reset any settings, I reset them manually myself. Well, the Enter key works in all other cases except for the moment of accepting the name of the horse /character

Are you using a QWERTY keyboard or something else?
It might have something to do with this.

Maybe try using a Game Controller instead.

Have you tried with a game controller; such as an Xbox or similar type of controller?
Many in Ukraine and Russia play this so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

I don't have a controller. I am absolutely sure that this is not the case, because I repeat once again: in all other cases, the input key works. Now I even killed my horse, tried to buy a new one, thought maybe a bug with a mission, but no, I can't confirm the horse's name again

The game allows you to enter the name of the horse in the field, but when you hit enter to have it accepted nothing happens? Thats in the story mode?
In the story mode I was able to name a horse, but cant remember the process. Did you try using a left mouse click as well, to enter it?
A controller would be the ultimate test here I think. If that doesnt work then its in the game. Thats a crazy problem youre having, since the enter key works fine otherwise.

He said it also happens in Online (RDO). When you first start RDO fresh you create a character and name it. The box for naming your RDO character is just like the one for Horse. A box where you enter a name but you can't "click" confirm/OK anywhere, you have to press ENTER.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work normally and he said it happens on 2 totally different PCs as well.

I've have heard of people having issues with this game when not using a QWERTY KB though, so IDK if that's the real reasons or not.
