Is Red Dead Redemption 2 Multiplayer worth it?

I'd like to buy RDR2, but the multiplayer aspect of the game is important for me, too. I read that the Servers are dead, is that true?

Well you can still find players, but game is dead indeed. R* officially discontinued game updates. You might still have fun for a few weeks, but that's about it. At any rate, game is totally worth it only for story mode. But probably wait for a sale.

I have played it but alike to GTA Online, there is cheaters everybody that put you at a security risk. Other than that it's an okay Multiplayer.

use RDO Lobby Manager or just play single-player story mode with mods

Google RedM, its a custom multiplayer experience. Maybe thats something for you

pubs are terrible in rdo. but that is where to find new posse's.
redm servers are higher quality or try to be. with many different ways to play online.
private lobbies is where to chill with friends that play, most the time.
