people complaining about drms while using a drms forum. buying games on the drm.

and again saying if it was drm free i would buy this game.
if you dont know what im referring to.

steam is a drm.

you going to stop using steam?

also. you saying on the forum your not going to buy the game because of the drm. does nothing. rockstar will not miss you not purchasing this game.
the only thing that happens by you not purchasing a game because you dont like drms.

is you dont purchase it.

and you use drms anyways.apparantly.

You are missing out on the best games ever made for stupid reasons then. Social Club has been required for 10 years already. Have 2 step activated and you will never have issue. Peoples obsession over launchers is patently absurd.

if the game was DRM free you could just download it from another persons account and install it outside of steam and not worry about actually having to buy the game at all.

DRM is "digital rights management" and literally every game you have to BUY has a version if not several compiled into the games themselves.

if you don't like DRMS, uninstall literally EVERY game you have ever installed.

except maybe for some like ksp1 and a few others, and by few i mean VERY few.

GOG has spoiled people. GOG is DRM free on most games. But the idea people are saying this on steam is laughable stupid.

Because of the DRM, MANY former and actual buyers face BIG activation issues. This is so freakin old, and ***R*** doesn't give a *** on it. So yeah, screw this DRM and MAYBE you regain some loyal customers who are rightful angry on you.

What exactly are "big activation issues" seems vague:steammocking:

Just search for "activation fails" or "activation error" in this forum and you find those.

Player incompetence.

People that didnt have 2 step authorization activated got hacked or are subject to intrusion. And that is true on every site you use, not just R* or Steam.

Many others didnt keep track of their email, how is that R*'s fault?

Launcher issues are 99% user error or incompetence.

That's a really arrogant POV, IMO. And it's the reversal of the burden of proof culture, that is trying to be established from several companies, nowadays.

The proof is in the numbers, the overwhelming majority of people do not have these issues.

I also do not expect everyone to be computer savvy, but we live in the era of google, solutions are out there. Rockstar has a literal online chat service, they announced that they acknowledged the issue that happened two weeks ago. If you have email issues contact support and get two factor set up, if it is installation issues, download social club from the R* website and directly install it. Its not rocket science.

People need to take responsibility for their own lives and stop blaming everything else. It is not the games fault people cant get logged in or dont use two factor security.

You know, 2FA can also be hacked? Just because of the lack of security from a company itself? If there's a breach, you can't do anything about it, and if a pro hacker targets you, or the platform, you/it will be compromised. You have some point there, with responsibility of the indivdual, that I totally agree with. But, a major company should be take a high responsibility of the data of it's consumers. That's what we lack of nowadays.
And R* doesn't look good in that perspective. Also they punished users for many years with multiple DRM. I'm a "victim" of GTA4. That's why I'm quite rejuctant against R* and it's DRM.

Cut the crap man. Never been hacked by a factor account yet. Take responsibility for your situation and fix it.
Darklord Sep 8, 2023 @ 10:43am
I also haven't been hacked, man. Come to the point.

Silly chap.

So if all future games had DRM's you'd stop gaming?
