Game crashes every 20 minutes
Hi there. My game crashes every 20 minutes, I can't finish one mission even, game's just closing. I think that I tried everything (changing from Vulkan to DX12, deleting sga files, pasting -ignorepipelinecache in steam, almost everything). I have decent PC also - 11700k, 32GB of RAM, 6800XT. I can't get refund either. Did you found the "ultimate" solution for it or I just can't play it anymore?

Would you happen to be running windows 11? I'm having the same issue and from everything I've read it seems to be a driver problem but everyone else with the same problem also has W11 so I'm just curious
Exactly, W11 in use.

Dont think that is a W11 issue, Im using W10, and im struggling with the crashes too. I dont know what really cause those annoying crashes, if you search online is a common issue...tried lot of fix, none worked.

Cant play the game since i bought it, screw Rockstar.

disable smart access memory, vulkan has a memory leak when enabled and it crashes

please be advised:
if you're using a 21H2 version of either win 11 or win 10, you can experience game crashes quite often
please upgrade your windows version to 22H2 version in order to eliminate those problems
(awards will be appreciated)
if the problem still persist please inform us
@Maverick - I don't have SAM, it requires both AMD CPU and GPU (I do have Intel CPU). @ЯΛGПӨЯΛK - Indeed, I do have updated 22H2 W11 version, crashes still happens every 15-20 minutes

ok then, there are possible solutions for this problem in praticular

-Run as administrator
-Verify game integrity
-Disable antivirus software temporarily
-Update to the latest graphics drivers
-Revert back to Vulkan
-Perform a clean boot
-Check your system files
-Set Windows to manage Virtual Memory
-Change to High-Performance Mode
-Change your audio sampling

i seem to believe this is a hardware issue. im running windows 11, updating through the insider program, a 4070 gpu and i9 13900kF and 32G, 4TB and i haven't had a single issue? i could always be wrong, but i feel like RDR2 can be pretty demanding, even for a game that's a few years old now.

I believe so, 11th gen cpus have lesser threads and less power to transfer data to the main circuitry compared to 13th gen...
in your case as you already know, 13th gen threads outnumber the cores, meaning that Data process will occur faster than a 12th gen (considering the fact that 13th gen design is unique and superior to other versions)...hence your game will get processed faster and renders perfectly without any problem
most of these bugs happen because machine is still processing the game while the character ingame is outrunning its unfinished environment and experience weird glitches
but I personally believe OP's VRAM is currently compromised by too many softwares while he is booting up the game
these problems are quite often if you are playing on portable machines, let alone the Handheld consoles and their emulated pc games
players mainly bought this game for its mesmerising graphics and environments without prior knowledge to their ALL system specs

I know this is old but I just started this game and still getting these same errors. 7950x 4080 64gb 4tb. Still win 10 but fully updated win, bios and all drivers. No system errors in log leading up to crash. It's got to be the game. The only other game I ever get crashes in is cod. I have a feeling it's games that force you to be connected to their bull**** just to play the game. There is no reason on earth you need to be connected to play the story/campaign of a game. All cloud saves can easily be updated after you quit. I can't figure it out. I spent hours today going thru regedit looking for problems too. It's got to be the game just doesn't like some peoples system for whatever reason.

Had the same problem, just rolled back the previous Nvidia drivers solved that.
Ps; Vulkan for me is more stable and never crashed once before updates.

Disable hyper-threading in bios of your system.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
