Online only single player?
Really. Very epic 2023 gaming standards. Really helpful for playing games when youre on deployment and have internet for a few hours out of the day

Don't blame them, most people don't understand the real world outside of their own country, especially Americans.

I wonder if they knew South Africa is so corrupt right now they only have power maybe 6-12 hours a day for many people.

How does that have ANYTHING to do with the topic? I understand more than you know, and am actually doing something about it in the military. What's your excuse?

Yes the Rockstar social club/launcher is pretty bogus. Does anyone have a gaming console at your base or where ever you are stationed? I believe the console version doesn't need internet at all to play through the story.

If not maybe you could turn on Red Dead while internet is active then just leave the game running seems a little much though to be honest.

Just leaving it running is what I have been doing lol
My entire unit uses laptops, steamdecks or switches. No typical consoles to be seen

If you bought it through rockstar then you can play it in offline mode on their launcher. They really should have specified that before selling people the steam version, or just added it to their launcher since you did pay them for it.

Exactly I was actually about to Splash $124 on a few Ubisoft games and it doesn't mention the online requirement then i found out they have online requirement on those games so i didn't buy it, i seen many negative reviews with refunds on this.

I would appreciate if Steam Actually mentioned it on the side of the store next to EULA warnings, but either way obviously we will find out there is Online Requirement.

People are really getting fed up with all these schemes, Live Services, NFT's, Online requirements, Metacrapola, Loot boxes etc. etc...

I'm really just over all the added launchers and accounts that studios keep pushing onto us. CDPR, Ubisoft, EA, Paradox, Rockstar. ALL installed launchers for games that I bought ON STEAM. Probably more than that too, thats just the ones that I know about.

The trend of forcing people to play single player games online because of anti piracy crap is also confounding, because in about 45 seconds I could start a download to a working, offline, pirated version of most those games.

i found out first you need to log into Ubisoft Connect click go offline/ turn off internet and then log into Steam as on Offline Mode, and now it should play a game (watch dog) but have not tried other games.. (For Honor is Online only)

The funniest part is their games are really badly run while internet is on (crashes, bugs, freezes, frame rate issues) and offline it all seemed to be gone i mean what in the actual f.

Ironically, Watch Dogs touches in this subject, that they know that it's actually worse to have this all hooked up to the Internet Switch, but i'm guessing electric cars, microchips, crypto - coins, VR etc. it's all about hooking everyone to the Internet Switch.

It's impractical af and rather a waste of time but i'm sure a gaming CEO is getting a fat paycheck..

As long as the investors and the board is happy right? Gotta stop pirates. Surely they will buy the game if they cant pirate it
