ERR_GFX_STATE (FIX) error Game Crash Fix Vulkan Nvidia Only (UPDATED) HOTFIX AVAILABLE

(UPDATE 6/14 Nvidia has released a hotfix for RDR2. Just go to their website as stated below and download the new driver 536.23 WHQL)

Long story short. It's your driver. Roll it back one and you should be fine.

(explanation) Nvidia's Latest Driver 535.98 is causing vulkan issues and crashes in RDR2.
(Skip unnecessary story) After days of trouble shooting and failed fix attempts. the ONLY thing that has worked for me is rolling back the drivers.

HOW TO FIX (if you can't rollback through windows)

1. Go to https://www.nvidia.com/
2. Click on Drivers
3. Search for your GPU
4. Download GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL 532.03
5. Run downloaded Nvidia exe
6. Follow instructions *** * ** see notes * ** ***
7. Play RDR2

WINDOWS ROLL BACK

1. Open Device Manager (you can just type, "device manager" in search bar)
2. Click on Display Drivers
3. Right Click on your GPU (ex. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070)
4. Click Properties
4. Click Driver (TAB)
5. Click Roll Back Driver
6. Click OK

*(Should automatically find your driver folder on system drive)
**(If you do not install geforce experience with this exe, it will delete it if you had it installed currently)
***(I uninstalled geforce experience)

IF YOU ARE STILL GETTING ERROR FFFFFFFF, (OFFLINE STORY MODE) ITS IS PROBABLY...
A. You have something overclocked and it is unstable, most likely GPU but CPU and MEM OCs have been known to cause issues
B. You have corrupt files
C. You installed the wrong driver/bad driver
D. Your PC doesn't like Vulkan

to trouble shoot this. try
A. Verify integrity of game files
B. Switch to DirectX12
C. Make sure you installed appropriate GPU driver
D. Try the -ignorepipelinecache launch command
E. Stop over clocking so much, try base clock or back off on the lil buddy.
F. Lower your graphics settings

IF YOU ARE STILL GETTING ERROR FFFFFFFF ONLINE
It's because someone on the server is using mods and the server doesn't like and will cause your game to crash. Do a private session to avoid this.

Yes I'm running Vulkan (DirectX12 had poor performance in RDR2)
Yes I run -ignorepipelinecache launch command
yes, my GPU is overclocked as is my MEM and CPU
no, I am not using DLSS
Yes, I am using FSR 2.0 Quality

PC Specs:

I7-6700K OC
GTX 1070 OC
64 GB DDR4 XMP OC
500 GB SSD

Running 1440p @ 60FPS

(if you are nicer than half the people in the replies, I'll share my graphics settings for you based on my specs to get a sweet *** looking game. <3 Vee)

Wipe out SocialClub and Launcher.

Then go to the AppData and Documents folders and with the Rockstar Games folder in each, delete folders for SocialClub and Launcher.

Download latest Rockstar Launcher from the official website for that. Install it, run it and login and set to remember me + Auto.

Set the Rockstar Launcher settings to Hibernate During Gameplay = Enabled and Launch with Windows = Disabled

Exit the Launcher and Steam.
Reboot the PC.
Launch Steam via Run As Admin
Launch Rockstar Launcher via Run As Admin
Launch RDR2 from Rockstar Launcher

easier fix ever---> reinstall gpu driver but without Nvidia Geforce experience its buggy for RDR2 working for me ... experience is ... not good . when i unistall experience vulkan was working normally no error nothing so Experience is a problem i think, because u have a normal drivers + experience and i u have eyes its a twice in experience thats the problem, experience detectin two RDR2 so it will crash again again if users using Nvidia experience :) thanks to me its working

GeForce Experience is not a problem. The problem is the USER using it.

Don't optimize games with it.
Don't allow it to be configured to auto update your gpu driver.

This will force the game to load up using default Graphics Settings whenever the Settings.XML file is deleted and/or missing. If game starts up in a small window, once you reach the main menu in-game, go to Settings, then press ALT+Enter to force the game window to full-screen. Then go ahead and change the basics for Settings > Graphics such as the correct Screen Resolution and Apply that.

as i said in last thread dont install nvidia experience with gpu drivers and it will work normally on vulkan .
