Verify integrity of game files
Then go to the AppData and Documents folders and with the Rockstar Games folder in each, delete folders for SocialClub and Launcher.
Download latest Rockstar Launcher from the official website for that. Install it, run it and login and set to remember me + Auto.
Set the Rockstar Launcher settings to Hibernate During Gameplay = Enabled and Launch with Windows = Disabled
Exit the Launcher and Steam.
Reboot the PC.
Launch Steam via Run As Admin
Launch Rockstar Launcher via Run As Admin
Launch RDR2 from Rockstar Launcher
Praise be the community that found this day one of the issue, and praise be Nvidia for responding as quickly as they did!
Don't optimize games with it.
Don't allow it to be configured to auto update your gpu driver.
PC Specs & OS version/build ???
Was the game working OK and now it is not all of a sudden?
Or has it not worked at all since installing it?
If game ran before and now it won't launch properly first thing to try would be going here:
>> Documents > Rockstar Games > Red Dead Redemption 2
... in the Profiles > YourAccountID# folder, delete all files that starts with letter P, except for ProfileSettings
... in the Settings folder, delete all files that start with SGA.
Try launching game again. If still no dice, exit game and go back to this Settings folder and delete the Settings.XML file. Then try launching the game again. This will force the game to load up using default Graphics Settings whenever the Settings.XML file is deleted and/or missing. If game starts up in a small window, once you reach the main menu in-game, go to Settings, then press ALT+Enter to force the game window to full-screen. Then go ahead and change the basics for Settings > Graphics such as the correct Screen Resolution and Apply that.
For RDR2 on Steam; users will want to launch Steam Client, then launch Rockstar Launcher, Login and set to Remember Me + Auto, then launch RDR2 from the Rockstar Launcher.
Get out of my post and stop telling people to delete random folders. This is bad advice and no one should listen to you.
Maybe because you don't understand anything I suggested and how the game and launcher files all works. That's your problem bud.
