If money is your focus, then there are several gold bars laying around the map you can get in excess of $3,000, such as the train crash and burned out town. And that is not including treasure hunts and other jewelry you can sell.

Money is absolutely no issue in this game unless you want it to be.

There are multiple safe's from what I remember, some empty though. If you rob all the passengers too, maybe you will get $100? You can also plan the heist a little and drive the train onto the bridge next to Flatneck Station to stop the police from boarding the train, minimising your bounty. I guess the whole point of it is to rob the train for money that you use for guns and clothing, whilst taking the risk of a bounty.

depends on the location of the train my guy.

trains from annesburg will have nobles from saint denis onboard.

this is also the recommended train to rob when trying to go for no bounty, because you can stop it in the tunnel which is out of range for the law to spawn and as long as you take care of the gaurds you can rob the train entirely.

each passenger in the first class will have over 20 dollars on their person, on one train alone i managed to make over 300 dollars from the entire worth of the trains robbery, (sold watches and jewelery along with coin bags and jewlery bags to fence,) so it definitely can be worth robbing the train, especially if you're going for negative honor as robbing the train drains the honor the more people you actually hold up.

im also pretty sure time of day plays a big role as the trains can vary the amount of people on board.

Everyone who mentions the bridge thing, you guys realise you are using an exploit right?

Think about how busted this mechanic is if you have to use an *exploit* to make it viable because of how quickly your bounty would spiral if you tried to do it any other way.

Yes, but this is the way it is. The game is not going to be updated or changed. So you have to deal with the reality of the situation.

the only time I ever robbed a train on my own is for the bandit challenges. and that was a simple matter of taking a canned food from the rear car, never spotted never wanted, never bounties. money has never been an issue, always got plenty anyway from looting and exploring. what is the problem other than somebody needs to gripe?

I hate this line of reasoning, its a giant nothing burger.

Also the bounty issue extends to all other crimes, this is just the most outrageous example I've encountered.

I got tired of this stuff too. Use Crime and Law Rebalance Enhancement mod. Fixes alot of issues and includes a "witness" system where you will only get wanted if there are people around to see you commit crimes.

the train likely has a schedule, people get suspicious when a train full of valuables doesn't show up
