there not doing anything about the cheaters. and there not likely to in the near, semi near, relatively close, not to far off future to distant future.
my best advice i can possibly give you.
is do either 3 things. A. either except that you will have to deal with cheaters. alot. when your playing online mode. learn however you can manage it to not care. however you choose best fits. i believe there is a way to make yourself a private server that you and only people you invite can be on. i suggest doing that. if you choose option A. and continuing to play online.
or
option b. disregard online. pretend its not a thing and treat the game as a single player game. only.
those are the only real options available. to anyone. pretty much.
i chose option B personally. ive only ever played the single player since i found the online to be filled with hackers, modders, cheaters.
rockstar isnt and likely wont ever fix it.
option C: i suppose you could do the if you cant beat them join them. meaning since hackers are ruining your fun. you can try to hack, mod, cheat to have fun yourself to.
join them.
i dont suggest option c. but you know it does exist i guess. its an option.
I would be very careful about taking cash (especially gold) from cheaters. Last time I was playing, Rockstar just auto-banned people who acquired a large amount of money within a short time. Even if you just happened to stumble on a chest that was spawned in by a cheater. Also, this was already a problem 2 years ago, so I don't think they plan to do anything about it anytime soon.
I'll probably go with A. I really enjoy interactions with the normal people running around in the online mode and just running around offline just doesn't have the same feel for me.
C is, never has been and never will be an option for me, personally. Cheaters/hackers are just scum in my opinion.
I'm just deeply disappointed by Rockstar. It's been 2 years and cheaters are appearantly still as prevalent as ever. At least I can choose not to spend any more money on the game than I already have.
To me this online part of the game is unplayable like GTA is now, good job R*.. smh
That's the thing though with this game, say you don't know much about this game and you stumble across a chest that a cheater spawned in and you open it and take stuff out of it. Then get insta banned over it, rockstar needs to fix this issue. Because it's unfair to players that actually want to enjoy the game.
When you get the whole world dropped on your head you wonder how rockstar doesnt notice but I really dont think it is as bad as the community makes it. The sky isn't falling, RDR2 online is playable just annoying at times.
once every ten 10 hours.
if someone would punch you once every 10 hours im pretty sure you would be up in arms.
if a car ran into your house once every 10 hours im pretty sure you would be on the phone with police as many times as it took to stop it.
if something went wrong once every 10 hours at your job for whatever it is you do for work. im pretty sure you wouldnt like it that much.
1 every 10 hours. is alot.
that can very well be every time a person plays the game they run into a hacker.
i hate to break it to you. but there was a time. when hackers werent so prevalant. not even close.
Playable, yes (barely). But for me, personally, it has gotten way worse compared to two years ago. Last time I played the online mode I spent about 300h in it and I ran into 3 hackers in that entire amount of time. Now, after 2 years, I come back to check out if they finally added some stuff to actually do to the online-mode and I run into 2 hackers in half an hour. That is insane.
I will be playing more to see how bad the issue actually is on a larger timescale but to be honest, I won't get my hopes up.

Such eloquence, such terrible spelling.
A minor annoyance is not even close to being equivalent to actual assault.
I just do not think that is a lot at all and it was a random estimate anyways. Some of the cheaters I run into do not even disrupt my game play.
I do agree it is ridiculous. Some of the cheating is so outlandish it is weird it can't be fixed easily. I do enjoy RDR2 online but I do not play that much and a lot of times I play at odd hours so my experience is probably different.
thx i knew i didnt need a spell check program.who needs grammerly when theirs anal retentive people who will do the spell check and grammer checks for me!!!!
It is.
other online games where cheaters are actively fought against by the developers. you still will see some hacking and cheating.
but it would be more like once every blue moon. red dead redemption 2 online.
its very well possible you will run into a hacker once EVERY TIME YOU PLAY. depending on how long you play each session.
my examples wasnt the best. so ill give ya a new one.
if you had kids. and you stepped on legos bare footed once every 10 hours. and the kids wouldnt stop leaving them everywhere.
you as the parant i garauntee eventually would take away the legos.
my point is. you are calling it a minor annoyance. there plunty of minor annoyances that will drive you crazy.
try having someone poke you over and over again. its just a poke. wont even hurt.
but you wouldnt go 10 minutes before you would tell them to stop. and you would get violent if thats what it took to get them to stop.
