Game performance is suddenly unplayable

I don't understand what happened. I've played this game for 100+ hours and now when I load it up the game runs so slow that I struggle to even make it through menus. Changing graphics settings has no effect. Sometimes when I first launch it it'll be fine for about a minute then the whole game will slow to a crawl. Has anyone else experienced this? Some update must have broke something.

Installed the game yesterday and system wise everything should be more than fine. I started the game and whether I go with 1080p on lowest settings or 1440p on highest settings.... either way I never get more than 5 FPS so I think I might have the same problems.

Mods or no mods?
power saving features all disabled on CPU or GPU?
are you using any custom settings in cfg files for eg?
Not relying on nvidia GFE or AMD app to define settings of a game (over ride features)?

Most likely not a game issue but a PC issue, you gotta keep maintenance up on your gaming rig, also make sure your windows is optimized and you don't have any programs running in the background and yes there are hidden things taking up system resources, these are just a few things that could hit your performance.

Not overriding settings

I've done multiple fresh installs and its still happening.

This might be totally left field, but I've seen many a computer or laptop where users complain about poor performance. Then, when you look at their desktop, it's riddled with shortcuts, files etc. Those things use up a LOT of your available CPU, clearing them all off, and I mean all, can/may improve performance.

Solved, GPU wouldn't recognize my main monitor. Some reason that has only been an issue with this game. Adjusted some wires and settings and that fixed it.

Brother I know you're trying to help but a video game going from "running fine" to "5 FPS in menus" overnight is not a PC issue, especially if it's the only game doing it.

If a computer in 2024 can't run a game from 2018 that's built on an engine from 2013 there is no amount of maintenance or optimization that a user can do to fix it. It isn't 1999 anymore!

You fundamentally do not understand how a modern PC works. Are you all stuck in the 90s?

I have a 4080 super and a 5800x3d, 64g ram and the game will not run.
