Steam account is already linked to a different Social Club account
support taking forever to respond, any way around this? Just wanna play the story mode

I have the same question. I bought the game a couple years ago and its tied to an old email account I no longer have access to, even though I've already changed my email on steam.
Same problem here, my Steam is linked to a Social Club account that i have no idea who is the owner if that account and i dont know the email and the password to login in to it and unlink the two accoutns

I have same problem too, rockstar launcher show an unknown email and ask me to login it, it's clearly not my email used, just what to play a game, so annoying, seems not a single case

I'm chatting with rockstar support on https://support.rockstargames.com/ web site, but it has been going on for more than a week!

I have contacted Rockstar support and waiting for them to verify my e mail. They replied very fast. Here is what they wrote back to me:

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

We can help with this, but just need to verify that you are the owner of the email address you are using to submit this request. Please confirm that you are the owner of this email address by clicking “reply” from your email program and letting us know that you own this email address.

Note: This reply would need to be via email, and not by logging into the Support site and updating your ticket, for us to verify your email address.

As soon as we have this verification, we will investigate your account and get back to you as soon as possible with a resolution.

Best regards, Rockstar Support"

Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

The entitlements to play GTAV are tied to both the Social Club and Steam accounts. These accounts must remain linked or you will not be able to play GTAV or GTA Online with either of these accounts.

If we were to unlink your Steam account from your Social Club account, you will not be able to play GTA Online as well as GTAV with your Social Club account, even if another Steam account is linked to it afterwards.

However, if you would still like to proceed with the Steam unlink, please get back to us with the following information:

The Social Club nickname you don’t want to be linked to Steam anymore
A screenshot showing you logged into Steam, with your Steam Profile name and Steam ID64
1 Sign in to Steam
Click on your Steam Profile name at the top right corner of the window and select “Account Details"
2 Take a screenshot showing your Steam Profile and Steam ID64 clearly visible on the screen
3 Confirmation that you understand that unlinking the accounts will result in being unable to play GTA Online as well as GTAV with either of these accounts.

When replying, please reply through your email instead of through the Support site.

Once we have this information, we can continue with your request. We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation during this process.

What a terrible mess. Hopefully Rockstar gets their act together and this doesnt happen on future titles. Its going to make me think twice about buying any more games from them. Prior to this game I had a really good experience with the GTA franchise. Those all played well with no bugs that I can remember, and no trouble with my account being linked to here.

I wonder whats making things so bad now?

Until a proper fix appear dont launch the game from steam or desktop shortcut instead login in your rockstar games launcher and launch the game through there.

I got my account back doing live support
Try doing r support click on rdr2 then Purchase/Activation then Events/Promotions then pc
list the problem in this case unknown account blah blah then later you'll receive a email about r support that they've reviewed your request and below it should say:

A product knowledge Expert is standing by to chat with you regarding the issue you are experiencing. Please select one of the options below to proceed:

Click here to chat with this Expert now.
  1.  Clicking the link above will launch a live chat interface and connect you with a waiting Expert, powered by OnDemand.

Reply to this message to get a response from a Rockstar Agent.
  1. Reply to this message and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
  2. Replying to this email will direct your request to a Rockstar Agent.

If neither option is selected within the next 48 hours, we will consider the issue resolved and your support request will be closed.

Click on the chat with expert and start try to claim back your account
apparently it's like someone login your real account and changed the email address
or something like that
