Struggling to mod

I'm trying to play with a few mods I got off nexus to use on vortex. I installed Script Hook, and set up an online account with both the social club and Red Dead Online (yes I know I'll get banned, but I'm trying to mod the story) the Rockstar game launcher starts up when I try to launch the game on vortex and then it either tries to make me open the game on steam (it doesn't work), or it tells me something like "this account does not have online access" or "currently offline, please sign into social club and click "remember me." (which I did). It seems like I did everything I need to mod the game but it just wont let me launch it with vortex. I don't really know anything about modding and would really appreciate the help. PS: I can still launch the game directly through steam, but nowhere else... should I have downloaded the game off gamepass? Or do I just have no clue what I'm missing/did wrong? Would really appreciate a dumbed-down answer, thank you!

there was some "(...Juice...?)" person posting about mods about 6 months ago - try to find him, or one of his explanations... maybe even a guide ?

I have used Vortex Mod Manager in the past,
primarily for Skyrim and M&B Warband,
which does a great job managing mods for these games.

I would not recommend using Vortex for RDR2.
