I believe I read somewhere that mods disables achievements.
Can anyone else confirm?
Although truthfully, I could be wrong. @_@
Maybe just give it a shot and find out? Is there an easy achievement you could test with?
Mods however, different story, not a problem there.
Just be mindful if you start saving your game with certain mods active, the save can become dependent on them.
As you find in-game cheat codes (aka phrases) around the game world, or via an online guide; there is no problem entering them in-game.
How you do this is first you load into a Story Mode saved game. Once in the game world press ESC > Settings > Enter Cheat Menu > Enter Cheat Code > Enter the code like this in order for it to be "correct"... This Is A Test Cheat Code
With every first letter being capitalized. Once the code is entered and accepted. This is only saved to your game after you back out and then "Save Game". If you play and enter cheat codes and do not save your game, those entered codes will all be lost.
Again no penalty of any kind to enter the codes in order to unlock them and have them ready for use at a later time. Again save your game manually to a slot in order to save those you've entered as you go.
When ready to ever use a cheat code, load up a saved game, once in the game world, activate a cheat from the Settings > Cheat Code Menu system. Once any cheat code is activated you will not be able to save the game at all. So again use them for "just playing around without a care in the world" kind of deal. Since this turns off the achievement system as well, in order to get that back on again your safest bet is to then exit the game fully. Then relaunch it again. Then load up story and play without cheats if you still need to unlock achievements.
