You clearly want to enjoy the game but maybe aren't ready yet, give it a couple months and try again
But yeah, missions are often garbage to be honest.
I thought at least it would be funny driving the women's march wagon completely blasted out of my mind but no, they wrecked my fun, insta sober from a lethal amount of booze.
SOOOO REAL!!!!!
I would say if you aren't enjoying it by now it's probably not for you. The parts you're calling boring I really loved. I like the whole Western simulator feel to everything, I love the story, I love the gunplay, the hunting, etc.
I understand the people who don't get it but I just think the game might not be for you if you're one of them.
1. Play immersively - the way to a new mission should be treated like a mini-journey, look at the trees swaying, feel the wind, the animals living around you, interact with travelers and townsfolk, etc. There isn't a world like this anywhere else in gaming.
2: Look up Secrets and Random Encounters. Rockstar are the undisputed kings when it comes to weird and creepy stuff and secrets hidden throughout the games. RDR2 has so much you're likely to not even uncover 10% of what's there without playing 5000 hours or looking it up online.
3: Look after Arthur. A lot of random opportunities are lost when you ♥♥♥♥ something up and accidentally kill yourself. Dying is extremely immersion breaking in this game and it ruined my fun a lot of times. I definitely don't recommend dying (duh). Regularly eat a lot to get that extra health boost.
Story-wise it takes a little to get going but once the game involves natives and you reach chapter 4 it get's pretty damn wild. Definitely worth you while... RDR2 is an american CLASSIC.
Eventually the simplicity is attractive and just going out hunting or fishing is enjoyable.
It's worth giving it a chance by forcing yourself to play a little bit longer. The game has a lot of flaws but also a lot of charms.
And the storytelling is really well done, too. The characters are complex and relatable, and as you continue to play, you'll uncover more and more emotional depth to the story.
But the best part, in my opinion, is the gameplay mechanics. There are so many different activities to do, from hunting and fishing to heists and shootouts, and as you progress through the game, you'll unlock even more abilities and items that will make the experience even more exciting.
I know it may not seem like it right now, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is really worth your time and attention. I think if you give it a chance and keep playing, you'll find that it's a truly remarkable game.
What an insane game it could have been. It's not as trash as GTA V but the vibes are there.
