Looting is tedious
i found a bandit camp, i think it took me like 30 seconds to kill all the bandits and like 10 minutes to loot all the stuff because it seems you need to stand in a certain angle before the object to loot it. is there some way to make looting easier and faster?

Unfortunately no, not without modding.

The designers of this game seemed to be anti-loot, especially if you stop to loot during a mission the NPC has 6 or 7 differently recorded "stop looting and hurry up the main objective" messages to deter it

Also many missions will just simply fail if you stop to loot...
AND at least half the missions will disappear your loot at the end by moving you away from the mission location or cleaning up the bodies with a time lapse.

how can i mod this? seems there is no workshop in steam
Crouching down seems to help, I've noticed.

Sorry Idk, I play on console and never looked through the mods.

I was just assuming there was one because looting is one of the less good things about this game and I assumed somebody would have made one by now

looting is illegal, its a crime, why would you want to constantly be looting everything. The only time you should ever be looting in single player is if you are exploring a unique encounter because some NPCs have letters and unique items that may be of interest. Other than that you are probably just wasting your time unless you need a bit of money, ammo, or a consumable.

the looting animation is one of the many best unique things about the game, if you don't have the patience to use it properly how are you able to sit through anything else.

It is a crime BUT these are outlaws whose main motivational force in the story is to get more money.

Plus the game gives you a tutorial in chapter 1 to loot bodies and makes it a race to see who can loot the bodies first by making NPC's loot corpses too.

You get better at it as you play.

You'll be whizzing around looting before you know it.

I guess the key to it is don't bother looting everything. Its hard and very tempting I know. but you will get more items than you will ever need 1/3 of the way into the story. You have more than enough money to buy everything else you need. Maybe I am playing this wrong but the only thing I ever need to consume are game meats and chewing tobacco. Keep 1-2 horse reviver and gun oil on hand and you are pretty much good to go.

Many games have tedious looting. As if this is anything different or new?
Just get used to it.

Hope you don't play any FALLOUT games then; LMAO

I don’t think it’s a good idea to recommend running around urinating on dead people whilst looting them

use the general store more often, trust me its not as bad as you think half half the stuff i end up looting i sell to the general store and its a lot more fun revisiting the shops and getting only what you need. The game gives you more than enough ways to make a decent wage. You cant carry more than a handful of items with Arthur's satchel, i like playing with it for an entire play through because of how immersive it is. other than legend of the east satchel you are pretty much limited by how much stuff you can carry so hoarding can be a problem.

There is very little you ever need to purchase in the game aside from certain clothing items. Horses, and all provisions, are free. Just loot as you go. Plenty of houses and shacks and such you can loot over and over again in the game as well. The best foods are the ones you cook from game meats and such anyways.

"You cant carry more than a handful of items with Arthur's satchel" - there's a way to expand how much the satchel can carry. I think there are details in one of the camp ledgers.

Yes, go to Pearson's table in Gang Camp and upgrade the Satchels. Once you have all of them, then get the Legend of the East Satchel. Then you'll be able to have 99 items per slot for most items.
