imported save data (from stadia backup) not loading after import
When Stadia was shutting down I made a "Google Takeout" backup in case the Rockstar Social Club Sync didn't take. When I finally got around to repurchasing and installing RDR2 there I was back at the beginning. The RockStar Social Club sync hadn't worked. Too late now, Stadia is closed.

I went to my backup thankful I had made it and and un-extracted everything. There were several SRDRxxxxx files (from xxxx0-9 & xxx15 as well), There was also ProfileSettings, Player, & KeyMappings. There were no .bak files in with the SRDRxxxxx files. When I pasted these in the file path "C:\Users\(My user)\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\########" replacing SRDR30000 & SRDR15000 (plus their bak files; recreated by making a copy and adding .bak) nothing shows up in game at the load menu. Instead, I get a warning about no save data existing to load from.

When I return the files I had replaced, I go back to having the previous 2 save-points to choose from after the opening scene.

Does anyone have suggestions about how to get these files to register and become usable saves that can be loaded? Is there maybe some other dependent file that needs to be modified? Maybe some order of operations that I'm missing? Any advice would be appreciated!

The save file that ends in 15 is the AutoSave slot.
00-14 are manual save slots.

Delete all the local SRDR files and then from your google backup, extract any that end in 00-14

Forget the 15 one

Once you put the files in the folder, delete the file thats there called CloudSaveData

When you launch the game, first lets ensure Steam and Rockstar Launcher are not running at all, double check Task Manager to verify that. Then right click Steam and run as admin. Once that's loaded, run the R* Launcher from shortcut in the same way, run as admin. Then launch RDR2 from the R* Launcher, not from Steam. Once the Rockstar Launcher goes to load RDR2 it will now ask you if you'd like to enable cloud saving, click NO.

Then once in-game, selecting to start story mode should load the most recent save slot 00-14 file

You do not ever need to take a SRDR save file and create another and give it a .BAK file extension. This is something Rockstar does for their own reasons, which don't make a whole lot of sense.

It's possible that because you launched the game before you already had cloud save enabled and when you launched it again later with your backup saves you put into the folder, the save sync replaced them.

Once you have it all working you can always enable cloud save backup at a later time.

Do not import any other game files, the game will create those on its own.

Unfortunately no change in outcome. Here are the steps I took from memory in order to confirm I didn't miss or misunderstand anything.

1. Delete all existing SRDR (& .bak) files.
2. Paste my backed up SRDR files from Stadia backup (excluding xx15)
3. Delete CloudSaves
4. Confirm Steam & R* are not running (via task manager)
5. Launch Steam (as administrator)
6. Launch R* launcher (as administrator)
7. Launch RDR2 (from R* launcher)
8. Select "no" for cloud saves
9. Wait for cinematic to conclude (skipping when possible)
10. Pause game, "choose "story", "load"
11. "Alert: no save files are present."

Hoping there might be able to see something that I missed, because there seems to be no change after these steps.

Did you ever find a solution?
