How do I clear up my reputation?

So I just started playing and pulled up to the town of Valentine, and found a guy attacking a woman behind the road. I beat up the guy and pick up the woman, thinking she's unconscious, trying to take her to the Sheriff's office or something. Everyone thinks I killed her and I got shot dead, which I let them do.

Now everybody in Valentine is mad at me, even though I didn't do it.

What do?

just keep greeting everyone and your honor will be up again, leave town then come back a few days and they'll forget about it

Plus... When my honour gets a bit low, I go fishing. Don't keep the fish. Every time you throw a fish back in the water your honour goes up a bit. Also, don't forget the camp chores. Doing the camp chores puts your honour up.

if you donate 20$ at camp you will gain honour (less will net you nothing and more is just waste of money, you still free to do it though) and it's repeatable
