so you always have 10 ready to go. that's the comfy thing about it.
also it is a great face plinker.
i like navy revolver with mauser, and dps card build.
the cattleman is also amazing for revolver. really well balanced.
but i like the extra punch the navy has with the mauser.
i make sure when i reload my mauser gets ammo first.
it plays best with a glass cannon/max dps card build imo.
i never play 2 pistols.
revolver/pistol usually.
or 2 revolver.
if i use a pistol, i make sure it gets the 1st reload.
However they are more PvP oriented because they just eat through ammo. You'll really notice the difference going from Navy to Mauser.
Against other players Mausers can put them down quickly, even tankier players. It also reloads so quickly. Against NPCs and animals you'll be annoyed that you're eating through so much ammo unless you're someone who always goes for headshots, which is kind of annoying in my personal opinion.
For me, I keep my Mausers on me for griefers who try to steal from me and because they look better with my outfit compared to other side arms. I prefer using my Lancaster Repeater, Pump Action Shotgun, and Carcano Rifle for NPC enemies and hunting.
What I did early on (mind you I have Ultimate Edition, so Volcano is free as soon as I started RDO) is I duel-wield Volcano (left hand) + Mauser (right hand). Since both are using the same ammo though I would have High Velocity Ammo in the Volcano and Express Ammo in the Mauser.
When you are new to RDO though, without a doubt one of the best Revolvers though is LeMat. As it will come in handy with how you can quickly toggle it to get off 1 round of buckshot.
The Volcano (left) and LeMat (right) is also a decent duel-wield config. This way you have 2 if needed, but not sharing ammo types (Pistol vs Revolver). And the LeMat as a primary right hand gun helps since that is what you would pull out by default when you happen to just right click on something and then left click to pull out a single handgun that is defaulted to your right-hand. Since that has the buckshot round option, its another reason it can be helpful in that hand.
^ Agreed!
