Cant get past Rockstar Games Launcher

Been having errors all weekend about not being able to connect to the Rockstar Launcher. So it just goes to offline mode which then stops me from being able to activate the game on my account, so i cant even play it. Yes i have ultimate edition. What a waste of 90 quid

Have you tried reinstalling the Rockstar Launcher? If not, highly recommended.

Otherwise if you have done this, this could be an error with the actual game itself not recognising itself. Go to settings located at the top right of Steam, go to downloads and CLEAR Download Catche. This should be able to reconsider the game as an actual identifier.

If EITHER of these work, this solution should definitely fix your problem. Go to where ever your RDR2 folder is located (YOUR PC/HARD DRIVE/ Program Files (64) / Steamapps / Common / RDR2) and from there, delete a specific file called steam_api64.dll . This very specific file allows you to access Online features, including Social Club. This forward onwards, verify your RDR2 files in Steam (Right click on RDR2, properties, and in one of the selections there should be verify game files) and this will allow your Steam to reinstall this specific file. After this process, your game should connect to the Rockstar Launcher.

I don't have an answer for you yet but I am just saying that I am having, and herd a bunch of people are, having this issue after the update with the social club/launcher. I have done all the tricks and tips the rockstar website had said plus talked to the support team (they were useless). Give Ghosty's trick a try and I will do the same. I have also been having issues after un-installing the games launcher and attempting to re-install and get error code 1 incomplete download yadda yadda. If this is happening to you I think it's a safe bet it's on Rockstars end and will have to wait for them to update their damn laucher files....

Same here since friday evening. Nothing worked yet. I've played it for a month and never engaged with the online stuff. I was just about to finish the story and my free time is running out…

I'm having the same problem since friday. I can't even open social club in chrome. I tried to connect through my mobile phone's internet (not house wifi) and I was able to connect. I think the problem is with certain IP's. But couldn't find any solution and having my phone to connect is just unnecessary work load.

Yes all of your problems i have been having too guys. If any of you have accounts and are able to post on rockstar services please make this issue known.. As i cant even log in to my account, so i cant even get in touch with them :(

Same for me, I tried everything rockstar suggested along with reinstalling the launcher and now I can't even do this. I get an error while installing and support site is unreachable, can't log in :(

Only thing that worked for me was getting a vpn and using german ip( had this problem recently , cant access the download site, the game cuz it starts offline ) even wrote a bad review since it's bad business practice( some people say our ips got randomly banned ) also for people askin if i tried anythin else... I tried reinstalling the launcher because a friend sended em to me, didnt work, reinstaling some c+++ thing, nothin, relogging into one drive, nothin, cleaning dpsn cache, nothin, only thing that worked was changing ip with vpn

Howdy friend, been having this issue aswell, looked everywhere from Valentine to Strawberry, and you wanna know what? I found the answer in the garbage bin, Van Horn. A fellow there gave me a tip if I got him some moonshine so I did, what I was to do is download Cloudflare WARP (from the webpage 1.1.1.1) since for some reason Rockstar Social is dummy as a rock, no pun intended, and it thinks your internet is being used by gangs and raiders... so what WARP does is make the Rockstar fellows think that everything is fine and dandy. Just activate it before login into the Rockstar Social account and you'll be fine.

One more advice, if you start using WARP don't ever let your Rockstar Social remember your credentials, because they dummy as I said and they won't understand what's going on if you let your credentials logged in and then use a IP protector like WARP and they will just make you be stuck in a screen saying that you never logged in from that PC.

(If you do get stuck just delete the whole rockstar social and clean yourself from their filthy files before reinstalling)

So to put it short...

1: Download Cloudflare WARP
2: Delete your auto log in credentials and never click on "remember me" in te Rockstar Social app.
3: Activate WARP anytime you wanna log in into Rockstar Social, then log in and play normally, once you're done playing you can deactivate it.
4: In your next session remember to manually input your Rockstar Social credentials, you'll have to do that forever from now on.

I've been riding with it for over 2 weeks and so far no issues.
