I can't play the game I paid for?!

I bought RDR2 a month ago and it was the first time I've experienced such a life filled, huge open world, story driven game and it was Amazing!

Went through the missions without noticing how time flied and got to 50 in-game hours in a couple of days....when disaster struck.

I open my PC one day and start up the game.As the rockstar launcher loads up, my power in the house goess off and the launcher couldn't connect.

Game starts up anyway, but im greeted with a "Activation Required" notice, so I figured its because of the WiFi not working. Decided to wait for the power to come back on and play then.

Power comes back after 2 hours, so I re-boot everything, but this time, with my WiFi working, rockstar game launcher couldn't connect again. Despite me having a really fast (working) WiFi connection, the launcher refused to connect and just displayed a "Launcher is in offline mode" message. Game still starts, but then again, an "Activation Required" message pop's up.

I restarted the launcher and tried again. Didn't work. Tried re-installing the launcher - Uninstalled it, went to the rockstar website, clicked on the menu - Social Club, clicked aaannndd...Nothing! Social club website didn't want to load. I can't even download the launcher at this point!

Read some articles on the internet about the issue, and people suggested the following: Flush DNS, Reset DNS, change DNS IP, disable Firewalls and Anti-virus software, connect to mobile hotspot, use a VPN. NOTHING WORKED FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw some people managed to get it working with one of the above solutions, but I could not for the life of me get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ launcher to work at all!

Next step - Contacting Rockstar

Explained my situation to the person I was chatting with and they were trying to help me, really did and were very kind, but all they were doing were making me repeat the steps I mentioned above. At the end, they "escalated" my case to Email, but that was about it. Didn't get any email from them after that, NOTHING!

If any of you here at this forum have had a similar situation, please help me out. I feel like I've been robbed.

ASC is well worth having, though. Fixes alot of things and makes my machine run slick as warm butter.
Free vesion doesn't do as much oc, but might be worth trying.

So you had the same issue and fixed it with a system care program?

It has nothing to do with a system care program. Defrag and system care has the most obsolete thing to do with the game rdr2.exe it has no link. Unless... it has a link. I dont get it. what is it that rdr2 is running that can cause my pipe to forcefully shutdown with error 109. There is no fix for user end. NONE!

they went low bid on their network/internet code, and it has endcase holes that just lock you out --- with all kinds of gyrations you might try to fix it -- but then the next day you are blocked again

Mine connects but the launcher just closes itself and disappear from the tray icons.

its not a RS issue nor Steam's cuz they had nothing to do with the power outage w/c i'm sure altered your modem's/routers config thats why the message you're getting is connectivity related. Try contacting your ISP to reset config on their end. Explain what happened.

RS had nothing to do with the power outage fyi. So why take it out on them? it's a connectivity issue w/c im sure can be reset by the poster's ISP on their end. Something was altered imo. If you noticed the message being sent is activation related, that means connectivity was disrupted. And even if he tries to login again RS doesnt recognize it bec something was altered in the connection.

maybe it just needed a breather, like everyone else during a stressful experience. A sudden power outage is a stressful experience for electronic devices too y'know.
But i'm glad to know it's good now. Enjoy...again.

The dude try run Rdr 2 game files and launch it with -skipPatcherCheck to try avoid his files getting overwritten & then with the Gta V user profile and cracked RDR 2 game with it and rockstar closed down the piplines on his attempt´s to get access because it is not a Rdr 2 game profile ..

Good work Rockstar .. atleast something is working as it should in the game

What do I contact them about? Cracked games? I just as well might do it for rdr2! Rockstar doesnt deserved my support by not pirating their games!
