However, PvP I recommend using the Navy Revolver (Most accurate), Volcanic Pistol (Most amount of damage for a pistol), Lancaster Repeater (Most rapid and powerful repeater), Bolt Action Rifle (Best overall Rifle) and Carcano Sniper Rifle (Holds up to 7 bullets).
2) For "Dead eye", Paint it Black. For your free ability, I forgot what it is called but every time you head shot you're character is able to heal overtime.
- Volcanic Pistol
- Bolt Action Rifle
- Varmint Rifle
- Improved Bow
I’ve heard a lot of praise for the Navy Revolver though!
I mostly play PvE, so for ability cards I use:
- Quite an Inspiration
- Iron Lung
- Eye for an Eye
- The Unblinking Eye
Or, if I want more life leech I’ll switch out the last two cards for “Strange Medicine” and “Cold Blooded.”
for side arms I prefer volcanic pistols for great damage per shot
Some prefer mausers for high damage per second cause they have the fastest fire rate but in most senarios you'd have to get in extremely close range to your foes or push them to the ground if you can
but for majority of people are using the Navy revolvers for great accuracy and low recoil
for shotguns Pump action goes great with most of the builds but for slippery bastard Semi automatic is recommended because of it's extremely high fire rate
you should always have the carcano equipped as your main gun but for the secondary gun It really depends if you're playing on a controller or mouse and keyboard
for controller anything with low recoil and good distance could work great because you'd kill anyone with headshots , usually bolt action is favorite among them , also lancaster repeater is an all around trusty one if you want to save rifle ammunition for your carcano
for keyboard players depends on your build and if you're playing pvp or pve
most cases I just hold on to a pump action shotgun for the incendiary ammunition and it's reliability in close range when I am not able to use the carcano effectively
and for the builds
you always have to switch cards for different senarios
for example if you're mainly playing PVE content you don't need headshot protection , just use some cards that saves you money by not using tonics , cards that regenerate health or deadeye , in harder pve missions you can spare some tonics and switch to more defensive cards , there's not much to it.
for pvp tho, it depends on what your foe is using and your own play style
if you're a good sniper and trying to keep the distance go for this build
Deadeye : Focuse fire
1st card : Sharpshooter
2nd card : Peak condition
3rd Card : Winning streak
deadeye highlights enemies in any weather and range gives you great visibility advantage and significantly increases damage output , other cards are self explanatory used to deal max amount of damage per shots , you'd kill most foes with one body shot if they're not on tonic , and 2 shots for level 2 tonics not defensive builds , 3 shots defensive and level 2 tonics
You may want to switch your third card for Never without one for mid range against controller users if you're in their rifle lock on range.
there's another build for snipers but it's mainly defensive , doesn't work great if you're missing a lot of shots
it's called slow and steady build
deadeye : Slow and steady
1st card : Sharpshooter
2nd card : Iron lung
3rd card : Fool me once
with this build you won't be able to move around quicly while deadeye is active and dodging the bullets but you have 2 shots advantage over your foe , you'd be able to tank 5 carcano shots with level 2 tonics even a dynamite arrow to the face but survive it
the trick is you have to hit your enemy more than they can hit you , so count those shots
for close range there are 3 different playstyles and you'd have to adapt to your enemy but keep it in mind you will always need headshot protection for mid and close range
main choice goes with the following PIB build
deadeye : Paint it black
1st card : Never without one
2nd card : Iron lung for defense or Peak condition for offense
3rd card : Fool me once for defense or winning streak for offense
it is a more skill based build and doesn't give you clear advantage over anything , if you lose your hat you're doomed because you get debuffed and become even more vulnerable to any damage , some people may use the beaver garma set glitch for male character or hairpin and posse outfit glitch for female characters for recovering their hat quicly.
another tricky build is slippery bastard build
dead eye : slippery bastard
rest of the cards are the same except for never without one , you won't need it , instead you can use the card the gift of focus to slowdown your deadeye depletion
the trick is you have to use a carcano with short scope , a very fast shotgun like semi auto , or bolas to take down your enemy while they're desperately trying to get a headshot
this build is very easy to encounter with incendiray , bolas , bow , or scoped weapons so if you're playing against a good pvp player most likely you'd get rekt , it's more usefull in big posse fights or bullying those low level griefers
