Horseman 9 with Arthur

I am in chapter 3 and completed all the challenges except for Gambler (still in process), Herbalist (need John) and Horseman. Stuck on H 9.
I don’t know how many times I tried to jump over that broken bridge — with different horses, including my dark bay Turkoman. Even stole a shire from some poor delivery guy in Valentine and fully bonded with it for this very purpose.

The horses simply refuse to jump, just fall down. They don’t even attempt to jump.

I watched some YouTube videos and those guys seemed to jump so effortlessly. I am not ready to give up but I need to know if Rockstar patched that bridge or I am just hopelessly inept (more likely). I could just wait and do it with John but that would not be fun…

What’s your experience? Any successful jumpers here? Any advice is appreciated.
