Doing so doesn't cut into development of other titles. A very small team works on GTAO.
It is exactly that pile of GTA5 money that funded RDR2 and made it so amazing.
That same money will make GTA6 - which they're currently working on - be amazing too.

This literally couldn't be further from the truth, GTA 5 was worth 6$ billion dollars in April of 2018, and on launch day it grossed over $1 billion dollars with over 11.21 million copies sold, along with the fact that it generated revenue over 800 million three days after it launched on September 20th, 2013.

Your claim that GTA Online helped fun RDR2 is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and with all due respect, you do not seem to have the slightest idea how game development works, especially at the Triple A level of a studio like Rockstar that has the backing and funding of Take Two behind them. GTA Online's profits and revenue may have partially funded RDR2 in some way as well as GTA 6 to a certain extent but it is extremely miniscule and naive to claim that more or less, without GTAO, we would not have RDR2 or the upcoming GTA 6. and let's not forget, RDR2 was long in development way before GTA Online was even a thing too.

Please stop spreading misinformation and trying to defend Rockstar, they are not your friend, they exist solely to make a profit. If you enjoy their games like we do, that's 100% okay but there is no need to go out and try to fire back at OP who rightfully claimed that they abandoned RDR2's storymode as well as online because GTA 5/online is simply too profitable a cash cow for them to spend their time developing further content for RDR2. The community is well aware of both Rockstar and T2's greed and the recent GTA Trilogy Remasters, as well as the obvious cashgrab that is the Expanded and Enhanced re-releases of GTA 5 are nothing more than a testament to how low T2 and R* are willing to go to siphon every last penny out of people like you!

And let's not forget, R* doesn't give a flying damn about RDR2 because they still haven't bothered to add 60fps or higher support for it on current gen consoles, extremely embarrassing if you ask me of a once highly regarded studio like R* to be doing this.

Don't bother replying back to this either, good day.

RDR2 released to Consoles in 2018.
It was already in production before Sep 2013 (the launch of GTAV for 360/PS3). GTA Online wasn't ready and playable until months after Sep 2013. GTA Online did not have a whole lot by the way until they made Heists available, which wasn't until around the time of the April 2015 PC release date.

I take back my take back, I agree with you.

On top of that, the last round of single-player DLC they released for their previous games didn't sell as well as they wanted, so they decided to just give up on the idea of single-player DLC going forward. That could change with new leadership at Rockstar, but I doubt it.

As far as single player RDR2 DLC goes, I think it's safe to say that ship has sailed long ago. The game is nearly 5 years old at this point. If they were going to make something extra for single player, they'd have done it by now.

GTA Online helped fund the development of RDR2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was in development for nearly 10 years. No studio can justify that kind of development cycle unless they have a steady stream of income coming from somewhere else.

Yes Rockstar has the backing of Take Two, but Take Two only backs them because of how insanely profitable Rockstar is. @_@

Long story short, GTA Online helped make RDR2 as incredible as it is. HOWEVER, GTAO’s continued success has undoubtedly also discouraged Rockstar from investing too deeply in their other franchises. The two ideas aren’t mutually exclusive.

There is? Where?

Are you referring to the Halloween Event in RDO as Undead Nightmare 2?

There is NO Undead Nightmare 2.
There are some mods that bring that in a way to RDR2 but that's all
